But anyways, let me express the concept "Pick and choose your own battles."
You have two sides, both strongly opinionated. Nothing either side will say will be effective because of two reasons
1. The side that supports osu! looks like "Oh ur just a sili fanboi bcuz ur admin sed it wuz gud"
2. The side that supports Hexis looks like "VIVA LA REVOLUCION OSU SUKZ LOLOLOL"
Even though this might not be the original intention, that is what the sides see each other as. Therefore, no side is willing to change opinions. So you get 2 pages of "Wel im betr" "no im betr"
So what do you do? You can do one of two things. You can either
A) Drop the issue and not continue pointless banter
B) Continue bantering until stopped by outer forces.
Sadly, with choice A, sides may have pride lost by seeming to have been "beat out", so most go with opinion B, to continue debating endlessly.
So we're stuck with people being like "HURP WELP THIS IS GONNA BE AWED ANYWAY BUT LET'S DEBATE HERE, I CAN SURELY CHANGE OPINIONS" or "PLS COME BACK TO THE LIGHT SIDE ITS BETTER"
and nothing is done.
So instead of being like "this is going nowhere" or "we should stop posting", actually do so and just stop. Then people don't get angry. It's fine to fix discrepencies maturely, but when it just becomes a debate on what is better, then people get mad and no happy ponies.
However, from the posts that I've seen, Hexis shouldn't be considered "the outcasts who want the revolution." They should be seen as a legitimate group. Even though I disagree with the whole premise (I will be checking out the game myself, so I'm not just making opinions based off of "hurr it's different let's oppose it.", and not just immediately dismissed. However, it should also be noted that with the size of osu! at this point, that Hexis is rather an alternative rather than a competitor. It's kind of like Maplestory private servers. Due to Maplestory's popularity, it will ALWAYS be dominant. It will always be making money, and it will always be in the top. However, if people want to see things differently, then they have the option to make private servers (which I believe are illegal, I forget Nexon's policy), where they can increase rates, change monsters, have their own events, etc.)
Also I've noticed that smaller private servers, unless they become insanely popular, generally die off within a few months to a few years. Just a statement.
tl;dr: Stop babbling about what's better and just let it exist. If it stays somewhat popular, realize that it won't be as popular as osu!. Realize also that if Hexis loses popularity, then it dies off on its own. It's no issue to where the press should be informed and stressed out (Unless it has been explicitly stated that by copyright law, private servers are not allowed.).
But idunno, it's a bit weird that people who use the different server still use osu! every day. Not taking sides, just an observation.
