Hello everyone! I just started to play Osu taiko for about five months now and there are some difficulties for me especially when it comes to streams. I can't play streams in taiko oni maps unless the map is slow. I can read them most of the time but my fingers just can't catch up the notes. So, most of the time I just spamming the notes. Are there any advices to practice streams?

I also had a hard time learning streams, here's what I did;

First of, you have to have patiens. It took me a few months to get the hang of it and I got frustrated when a long stream came in a map I was about to pass, but I tried to stay positive and stay motivated.

The best mapset IMO is this one: beatmapsets/1056621#taiko/2246165 The two hardest difficulties should be good to practice on. The map features long, easy to read streams at 128 bpm, hence why this was my go-to stream practice map.

Other than that I would download these three too: beatmapsets/1138198#taiko/2377792 , beatmapsets/432406#taiko/1302635 , beatmapsets/1206242#taiko/2512042 . These three are at a little faster bpms, so when I first downloaded them I played them all with the half time mod.

So in general, be patient, download long stream maps and play them with half time if necessary.

Hope this helps! ༼☯﹏☯༽

In this case, I assume your hands are limiting you from playing streams. My best advice is to practice easier stream pattern on lower bpm to get your hands used to and work from there. For example : practice kdddkdddkdddk stream, ddkkddkkddkkddkk stream, and ddddkkkkddddkkkk stream.

The way I got better at streams is to find something I can kind of read but mess up in the stream, and then go into edit mode and pause in the parts where you messed up. You want to try to shadow play to that point and figure out why you messed up and just repeat that part until you get it down. Over time you will build up that pattern and go to another song and see parts of the pattern you practiced. I also recommend a lot of songs with 5-7 note combos as those are the beginning gateway to learning streams

beatmapsets/1066593#taiko/2233260 This map is an excellent medium-hard stream map.

beatmapsets/1222538#taiko/2542872 This one is also pretty good. Has nice streams at the end.

beatmapsets/448886#taiko/963335 This song has a lot of 5 note and 7 note streams, and two large ones in the middle, easy to follow the beat as well.
