Basically, the issue I want resolved is this one:

Everyone knows it, once you lose your bancho connection, you can't type anything anymore because F8 simply closes - sad story and suchs and it makes sense as you couldn't talk to anyone anyways, but there comes this one problem: Logs.

You may have had a long conversation up to the point of a netsplit or bancho crash but whenever one of these occurs, you can not save it, which is a pity for things like IRC mods which are then lost as soon as you close your client - and everyone (except for Rokodo) does that once in a while, not to say more than once a day (usually, I guess I'd do it once each 4hrs of running?).

So yeah the basic thing I am trying to point out is, I do think local actions such as /savelog should be still doable when not connected to bancho; hoping you see this reasoned and we'll see your critics or smth?

For private chat there is the auto-save function now, but this could indeed be useful to save non-private chat even if the connection crash/fail/whatever.

This idea can be interpreted and implemented as "log everything while you're offline" (and then download the logs whenever you log in again) t/101790/
which could work with t/104870/
