Tick placement along sliders

The placement of the tick inside a slider should be tied to the beat of the song, not the amount of time since the slider began. Either that, or have an option to switch between the two somewhere.

If it's not clear what I'm suggesting, here's an example: I'm making a slow, "Over the Distance"-style stage, with the BPM at about 75 and the slider tick rate set to 2. As it stands now, if I start a slider a quarter-beat after the beginning of a stanza, then each tick for the duration of the slider will be a quarter beat off from the music. It's jarring.

Am I making any sense?

Try uploading the osz that you need it for so people can see what you mean.

I follow what he means. He wants the option to fix the slider o's to the beat of the song, not to the beat of the song plus the slider's offset.

This is an interesting one! Can one of the Ouendan gurus out there tell me how it works in the original? I'm more than happy to change this if it is how the original works.

Is a toggle option too much to ask, dood?

That wasn't my question. I think things like this should be set to the correct style and left that way. Toogle = unnecessary confusion.

By the looks of Ouendan2, the way it is now is the "correct" way. That is, ticks appear based on the offset, and not fixed to the beat.

I haven't tested Ouendan1 or EBA, though I suspect OTO2 doesn't deviate from the earlier games. I can check, if need be.

I can't vouch for how it works in Ouendan 2, but here's the song file I'm making. You can hear what I'm talking about at 0:39-0:43. It's jarring!

I think it works for Ouendan because the noise for the ticks is much less pronounced.

I was thinking the exact same thing as I was playing Ouendan.

My gawd my scores are terrible in that game.

No. It works in Ouendan because all sliders are cleverly placed so that the ticks wouldn't interfere with the song.
