So I submitted my map into the work in progress forum. This is the first beatmap that I have submitted. I have been trying to figure a few things out. I have been searching around the Osu! site and in the forums, but I can't find the answer to my questions. I am wondering about the way the topics in the work in progress are viewed. I noticed that my topic with my beatmap is pushed all the way to 23rd or 22nd(and ive submited it like 17-18 hours ago) page in the forum. Are only the beatmaps that have more demand are shown at the front of the page? Or is it because I do not have any Kudosu? Or is the just not "popular" enough? Seems like No one will like ever notice my beatmap. :?

Sadly yes, you need to inform others about your beatmap, you can ask for mods in #modreqs to have people help you out or in the Modding Queues subforum, you should also go around and mod other people's beatmaps (don't worry anything you can help them with will be appreciated even if it's just general feedback) and earn kudosu which you can use to boost your map's SP.

Ah I see. With the modding, Should you run by the original creator the changes that you would make to their map? Or can you go ahead and change it for them and then save the changes? I wouldn't want to change something if they didn't want something to be changed.

For modding just check the map and post in the beatmap thread your suggestions or flaws within the map.

Gawd, I am so sorry. I'm still trying to figure out Osu!'s Terminology. When going into the modding ques..does M4M generally mean someone mods your map and then you mod one of theirs?
blissfulyoshi
That is exactly correct. They usually ask for you to mod their map first, and then you can post.
