Because I check general questions so often, I really want e-mail notifications for when a new topic is added/new reply is made in General Questions. The current subscription system only allows you to follow a topic, which doesn't help if the topic hasn't been created yet.

Generalizing this idea, I want the ability to be able to receive notifications that there has been an update in a forum or subforum.

Edit: Theo pointed out that this is possible by adding "/watch=forum" to your forum address, but this is not very intuitive, so can a more intuitive way to do this like a button/link be made for this action?

You can subscribe to forums by adding "/watch=forum" to the end of the url. You might've seen this if you take a look at the subscription link for threads "http://osu.ppy.sh/forum/t/115414/watch=topic" < this one
http://osu.ppy.sh/forum/4/watch=forum
To unsubcribe, simply add "un" before watch. or go to your User Control Panel, Manage subscriptions, mark the forum and press "unwatched marked".

This way of doing it isn't the correct way, originally you'd have to press on a button at the forum page which would be the link I just wrote down here. Something that might've been forgotten when making these forums. I guess this is a thread more suited for the Technical Support forum.

I'm unsubscribed from all notifications in forums I regularly visit. I only get email notifications when someone posts in one or two threads I care about in another forum.

I guess I'll change this to a request for a more intuitive way to do this (like a button)

Thanks for pointing that out Theo
