It makes me feel like a bad person when I don't tip, so I want people's opinion on this situation...

Yep, the US has a heavy tipping culture, tipping ~20% is considered normal, give or take depending on how you liked the service, and tips are often used as an excuse to pay employees less than minimum wage, then because employees aren't paid enough, the tipping culture gets reinforced. its a cycle that benefits nobody except for businesses.HecaRegina wrote:

I don't feel obligated, tips here are like, if the performance of the staff or the restaurant is really good, then people give tips. But only people who can afford money can give tips here in this country, most of then don't give tips. I just feel a bit sad if a performance of a restaurant is really great but I can't afford any money, so no tips to them.
