Creation of speeding / slowing streams

Hello guys,

I've found myself enjoying mapping recently, experimenting with the basics of mapping, trying out this other part of the game . I'm mostly a 5-6* player and I've been wondering for a while how people create those nice stream designs and also make them slower / faster.

I wanted to use this information in one of my maps but I couldn't find an answer to my question. Some help would be appreciated

Also, if you have any recommendations or tips, feel free to leave a comment!

you can place it manually or by converting sliders to streams under the compose drop down at the top / ctrl+shift+f

what do you mean by slower/faster? if you mean the actual speed then thats done during the timing and the notes will just snap to that as the song gets faster. but if you meant the spacing between circles, then you would increase the distance snap or by just placing them farther apart / closer together if drawing manually.

I was trying to say that I don't understand how people map streams that change in spacing (one after another). A proper example would be Kroytz's ascension to heaven which is featuring big consecutive streams that have different spacing.

I am thinking that manually placing sliders and then converting them to a different spaced stream might not be ideal, the question was asked in order to find out the best way of creating such streams

P.S - I have watched most A Mo videos and pishifat's

finally, a good topic to look at.

the best way to create such streams is really just manually, as you already said.

Yeah you should do it manually by using distance snap

For some reason, I see this method kinda faulty but, if people rank their maps like this then I guess it's just fine.

Thank you very much

It's just kinda like when an experienced mapper tries to replicate new mappers' common mistake, but still manage to represent the song well and make them enjoyable to play. Yes it's faulty, but reaching at that point you'll know how to make them pleasing to your eyes. All this lies to only one answer: It's about how you execute it.

if you feel like you ain't getting nice shapes doing variable spacing streams by hand, you can put a slider underneath and align your circles by hand on top of that while changing spacing, and you will have the kind of stable curve the slider provides in the end - if that was the kind of shape you aimed for anyways at that point though

But yes, essentially it will be manually either way. You just can use other things for support if you feel like they could help you better achieve what you were looking for

That answers my question, the problem was the "human error" part. Good to know , thank you!
