to (potentially) get a mod from me, you can meet any of these criteria. not all four need to be met; just one is enough, but more will make me more likely to want to mod a map.
1. send a map that i find particularly creative and expressive
2. have a history of helping newer mappers
3. be a part of any sexual minority or a supporter of people who are. note this does include furries, lolicons and shotacons, for the purposes of this
4. explain why you're pursuing mapping as an art. if i find it moving, or think it demonstrates creative potential, i might mod on that basis alone
meeting the 1st category will give the highest chance of getting a mod.
you can request a mod, a map review, or both. i prefer doing reviews, and think these are especially helpful in improving mappers themselves.
this is of course all dependent on my motivation, too. likewise, if i don't mod a map, it doesn't mean i don't think it's worth modding
