New features are always tested to ensure no performance degredation. I cannot provide old versions, sorry.

well, I wonder why I started to have lag on taiko ever since the ws (2 months ago or so) support update

I would guess that your computer had random things installed + fragmented files slowing it down (I am just assuming this, but I am unsure)

Playing in full screen will help with performance issues. You'll save a few FPS. Also disable all your things in settings helps. The only thing that is really annoyingly laggy for me is viewing user options.

I'd suggest reinstalling windows form a format (killing drive fragmentation) before you blame osu!. PCs generally get slower over time as more files enter them.
