[resolved] Pls Clarify how Weight works to me

Problem details:
So like, I FC a song at my recommended difficulty for example which is exactly (4.00), on the website it says 62pp, I'm sure weighted down that might be something like 12pp for whatever reason. Yeah I get that. But I only got 2 pp from the play? I'm probably being dumb and there's something I'm missing I guess so can someone help me figure this out lol, it sucks never gaining more than 10 pp max for everything aside from 5 star FC's which even those don't give me the full amount

Every time you make a play that give pp, all the plays below it get worse.

It's a cascade effect. For example, your top play is weighted 100% But if you get a new top play, that previous one is now weighted 95%, and the score below that went from 95% to 90%

So anytime you submit a play you will have weightage and then this shift that will affect the outcome. Either way or tl;dr it's correct and working fine.

Wow, that's pretty clear. Thanks. So basically my account can't gain much PP from songs below the difficulty of my highest play and since my highest play is 5.0ish, my pp gain is ruined unless I start playing for higher diff FCs

That's not entirely true. You'll find that even setting scores that fall somewhere in the middle of your top ranks can still give you a pretty sizeable amount of performance points.

But in general yes, you need to continually play harder maps.
