hello there. so this is a different kind of ramble of thoughts. no i dont have an addiction problem. no im not sad in a bad and negative way.

after all, they said we can post almost anything.

justification for putting it here:
can post non osu stuff here they said
offtopic is no good since this isnt an aimless joke-like post. over there should be less logical, lighthearted things. this is different.

if you feel uncomfortable right now reading probably wont benefit you. if you dont like this kind of discussion, no one is forcing you for such.

dont you find some advertisements sad? their mere trying existence... okay wait that has a large scope...

so when you hop on to youtube you find these advertisements littered around videos, some skippable and others not. these are more proper advertisements. look at the hindsight behind this: ads are being put up so that advertisers can pay youtube content makers in exchange for letting their name out. in this way, they should hope to improve their business themselves and gain more money through direct approaches of the busniess itself... and not indirect methods like having to make trying ads. this is the flow of the money. but really, how much of us look at these ads at all? face it, youve probably tried skipping much more than one ad when its an unskippable one. maybe one ad has really gotten their brand name to me... but thats it. no other ad was good enough.

next type. okay. you SHOULD know that majority of the playerbase is in one way or more related to anime. so on the kissanime site you have these random ads. they look fake. "weight loss" or "energy or electricity saving by sticking some pencil inside," thats obviously not true. everything is fishy about that. yet it functions in the same way as youtube ads. money is still being circulated. and in the same way, we all skip those. disregard them all.

actually thats just my assumption. but... they still function as ads right? why would they be there in the first place? they need it for the servers and players.

i havent even gotten into spotify money circulation.

you probably have many more examples i cannot imagine. im not that old.

how could this even be balanced? if advertisers simply allow these ads to pass our eyes, how do they stand to gain? youtube ads make sense... but kissanime-type ads? what do they stand to gain there? though i did read that theyre probably getting very little money from those (probably).

anyway thats it. i simply am puzzled by the justification of these things.

post back what you want. a similar rambling, a response, or ignore at all.

ok there i think im done.

This awakened me to a side of kissanime ads that I have never even thought of.
hmmm... looks like I'm going to retire adblock plus soon lol.
But really though, this topic is very interesting and seems to be unnoticed and maybe underrated?

it's called the 'mere exposure effect'
in marketing theory it basically says, that even though you probably don't follow it actively or you even get annoyed by it, the more you see the same add repeatedly, the likelier you will subconciously remember it, even if it is only 1 second, and thus you might subconciously be more likely to buy it IF it fits what you usually buy.
yes, this won't affect everyone equally. but that's how it's all supposed to work.
as for the 'stupid ads' - they are for stupid people honestly. stupid people exist. there will be ones who click on it and expect what the ad says.
