Problem details: First off, I haven't played in a while, so I knew I would be rusty, but I loaded up a bunch of songs (since I never backed up my old library) and went on to play. I thought it was just me being bad, but then I looked down during a song and it's showing that I'm super far ahead of the actual hit circles. But I'm just going off of sound and the beat, since it's been so long and playing only songs I know to get back into it. I've tried all the graphics settings. I play at native 1440p with mouse and keyboard. I've tried messing with the sound settings as well, but those only seem to really be the volume that I can mess with. This is on a free install of osu! by the way, since I just updated my storage setup.

Not sure if this will help, but I am running an i7-7800x CPU, 1080ti Founder's GPU. And osu! is installed on an M.2 ssd. My display is also a 144Hz 1440p monitor from Dell

Video or screenshot showing the problem: Sadly, I do not have a video of the issue as I do not have a recording software installed.

osu! version: Stable 20200208 (latest)

Please make sure your Universal Offset is at 0.

There were also some changes to audio somewhat recently. There should be less latency now. But if you can't fix everything, try enabling Audio Compatibility Mode. It in theory that mode should have more latency though. So if it feels similar, switch back to the new one.

Okay. So I'm just mentally challenged... Lol. I spent the entire two years I've been playing this game using open-back headphones. I just switched to closed-back, wireless headphones from SteelSeries for when I que for my fps games I can hear the q pop. So my last resort was to swap back to the Phillips open-backs and see if that did it. Well, it did. I had been going off the sound of my keyboard to the beat, rather than the in-game sounds this entire time, and since the closed-back headphones don't let you hear that very well unless you're liking beating your keyboard to actual death, I was just WAY off. Anyway, sorry for wasting your time reading my nonsense. But thank you for your reply!
