If someone has replied on your beatmap, you could get a notification ( maybe in your inbox ) that someone has replied on it. A lot of people (including me) don't check their e-mails, and don't even know they got a mod. So I think a web notification will help with the ease of modding/mapping.

I could argue back with "I subscribed to too many topics" but then I'll just be being pedantic, pretty sure it's not gonna be implemented

it should just be enough to use the bookmarks. or you could use something like msn and subscribing to a greater effect

As to whether it's a good idea to revive it or not, it's definitively better to revive an old feature request than to make a new thread about it, as long as you post why rather than just "Support!" like i did back then (even tho i wasn't reviving it at the time)
