Seriously, just keep playing difficult stuff and you'll eventually become able to read and play "impossible" stuff. Though I advice maybe you go for something a bit easier? A lot of players can't play 10* until late game (excluding star rating boost patterns like brain power)
Considering you're just getting into 4*, maybe try some 5-6* maps first? Those should be more reasonable for you to become more familiar with some specific map patterns. From there on you can gradually increase the level of difficulty until you reach 10* or above eventually. I advice trying stuff from the loved section (though you should avoid the gimmicky stuff unless you want to specialise in those)
Overall it comes down to practice like anything else really
