I’m kind of new to the game, I recently converted last week from normal Osu! to Mania simply because I just lost motivation to continue on + it looked really fun T_T
Anyways, how do scroll speeds in Mania work? If you have a faster one, does that actually make you read better? So far I’m at speed 26 but that’s the fastest speed which I can *comfortably* read high 2 star maps. Thanks to anyone who may read this :D

Lots of scroll speed posts lately.

The vertical height of the hit elements on the skin you're using is probably the most relevant part of that decision. Taller noteskins (such as arrows or circles) tend to benefit from a higher scrollspeed when considering readability, whereas thinner bar skins can be readable with a lower scroll speed. The best scroll speed for you is going to be the one you find the most comfortable for the skin you use. You should be able to hit notes on time and on rhythm fairly reliably while still being able to discern patterns clearly.

But to answer your question, no. high scroll speeds arent objectively better. You may feel the temptation to use the highest scrollspeed you can handle, and while this can make approaching more difficult and dense patterns less daunting, it can also hurt your ability to play accurately.

If you like 26 and you have no good reason to change it, then 26 should be fine.
