Manga translations are one thing, but intentionally writing your comic to read from right to left when it's in english makes absolutely no sense.
Also, in future, I'd recommend getting someone who actually maps to write mapping tips

Otherwise a nice issue though :P

There are a few graphical errors in the layout, we'll PROOOBABLY fix those.

And oh, thanks for the feedbacks.

I would like to apologize for not having maps in my pending, ranking, or graveyarded sections. However, I have spent more than forty hours in the editor while making maps. I have also did a certain number of guest difficulty. Not all of them are credited to me, though.

One would be inclined to say that I shouldn't make mapping tips without having mapped, but I assure you, I have several maps.

In addition, I would like to apologize if you found the tips I wrote disappointing.
m980
Those mapping tips are kind of a no brainer :p

But yeah. Awesome job guys. Can't wait for the next issue :)

At the end of the article on jumps it says something incorrect regarding osu!'s mouse precision mode. You should turn off Windows' pointer precision mode, but you should have osu!'s mouse precision mode on if you have a low sensitivity in-game like 0.5x. The article explains Windows' pointer precision mode, not osu!'s. All osu!'s does is make your mouse's movements more precise, and is notable on low sensitivities. That is literally all it does, it doesn't affect acceleration or anything.

That common error corrected, good issue! And yes Doomsday, I confess to sometimes finding other people to do the Easy/Normal for me, even if the song's only 1 minute long! Though, I have been much better about that lately.
i can confirm this

osu mouse precision mode enabled give you full floating point precision on your mouse cursor position. if turned of the position gets rounded.
thats nevar evar good. its just still there because osu started with mouse precision off and some old gals may still be used to it.
anyways default should be: mouse precision on in osu!
mouse precision or acceleration in windows off

anyways great job on this issue -- aggain:)

One slight thing, though. I know maybe this is a limitation that cannot be fixed even if tried, but is there any way to make the high-res PDF version of osu! monthly to have its implemented hyperlinks to open in a new tab/window rather than open on the same tab osu!monthly is loaded on? It's a bit of a nuisance having to re-load the file all over again whenever we want to go back to the article after clicking a link. It doesn't bother me that much but still it would be nice if it could be fixed :3
We're looking at it Roley, but the best thing you can do is tell adobe themselves. It also wouldn't hurt to tell google as well.

Also, I would like to thank everyone who has responded to this issue and participated in the contests we hold and gave us reviews (both good and bad). We all greatly appreciate it and read them in every meeting to see what we can improve on and what should stay the same. So thank you all!

I noticed that a bit when it came to how Google Docs read the skinny font. It shouldn't be so bad when it's zoomed in, at least.

Next edition we'll have another theme in store, so it's probably going to be more readable on the low-res version too. :) Thanks.

I must say I feel quite weird by reading my name at least once in some of the editions.

Also will take a look at the SB part in the future since I still mostly do everything in SBe ;w;

Great design and wide variety of articles.

I noticed the text looks really wavy when you have it rotated (first two whole pages, iirc) and it really messes with my eyes. :( There are some mistakes in the text (missing a word or two in some places) and I felt that the line spacing was a little too small for my tastes and made it a little straining to read things that were in bulky paragraphs. You guys did a really great jobs overall however and really stuck with a theme.

Super enjoyed the comics and such as well. I never knew Vext could draw. :D

Also on a random note: YEAHHHHHH MY TWO VOTES MADE BLUE ARMY WIN. <3

the first edition is actually the perfect length for a weekly one, but you guys wouldn't have enough time, so yeah.
if we're talking monthly, the last issue i thought was a decent length. anything longer (like this one) and i'm tempted to miss out on the more wordy parts of the newsletter (e.g. the storyboarding tutorial section). anyhoo, looking forward to the next issue o/

How did I miss this one earlier .-.

While the article may have been started by Omega, it is a team effort when we hit final product. For example, that article was revised by 1 BAT, and 1 GMT as well as other users who have some experience mapping (Shiirn in this case). These people may add, or change the article around and sometimes even reword the entire article for it to work (though the latter case has only happened twice). So while the base is written by Omega, by the time it's done it's written by the team.

Oh wow this really looks damn cool, good job team, wish I wasn't forced to see a terrible quality iPod version.

About my article on jumping, ztrot formations are accelerated spacing then decelerated. It's just a special way of doing them.
I'm sorry about the confusion over the mouse acceleration thingy, I could've handled that way better I guess.

Good job team, I can tell the effort that went in to this and it's magnificent. Great work in InDesign by the way kirby.

As you can guess already, the 6th issue will be a couple days late due to some unexpected occurrences with the osu!monthly. We're sorry for the delay again but it does look fantastic from what I have seen so far.
Starrodkirby86
It's not like we're deliberately trying to slack off or cause any of these problems, but the obstacles set against this month's issue seem much tougher than our last. However, we're doing our best and things will be OK!

I wasn't trying to be rude or anything. It's just that it's around this time you usually tell us that it will be delayed because of something wrong.
Starrodkirby86
I wasn't meaning to take your post as an offense or anything, sorry. I suppose my post made an implication that assumed your post was an accusation, but my intentions were just trying to think of any possible reason of a lack of publication. Anyway, things are chugging along, and yeah. :)

On the flipside, we're trying to optimize ourselves and plan farther ahead, picking up from what we learned in the past issues. We'll try our best.

Hi everyone, I want to apologize for our decision to delay the osu!monthly #6 until next month. As the school year started our lives became hectic, and while each problem depended on the problem getting used to several obligations and managing time well seemed to be the general problem behind postponing the issue.

I personally apologize for the lack of an osu!monthly this month, this was mostly due to my poor planning and unforeseen circumstances that occurred. I owe a debt to all fans of the osu!monthly, something that can't easily be paid back, their trust. As we try to streamline ourselves back into a stable and functional status let us hope that we can try to pay back a debt. I deeply apologize for this delay and as we move onto the future, we'll try to provide a consistent, on-time, well done edition of the osu!monthly.

Apologies,

Test Sample:

Title: Storyboarding

You ever tried to story board a map?

Well if you don't, let me introduce you to the world of storyboarding, also known as SB.

There are four features of SBing. Movement, Fading, Rotation, and Scaling.

It is how amazing that the osu! developper, peppy transformed a extremely hard flash which needs coding and all complicated things like that to using sprites and to animate them with a single click or a single mousedrag.

Movement, there are two important(or more) places of this function, the starting and the ending. For example, you started your animation at the top left corner, at the ending you moved it to the bottom left corner. Then, when you initiate it, it will be a sprite animation of a sprite moving from the place you located at the start to the place you located for the ending.

Movement is a major function for SBing, it controls vibrations, movements of characters and more things of that. It can be use to create movements of sprites.

Second, we'll explain Fading.

Fading is a function which you control the opacity(the state of being transparent, able to see through) the sprites. At the start, you drag the mouse up and down to control the opacity of the sprite(Thank you CrazyJay for your help!), and it just works like that.

Fading's functions are for fading(duh) your sprites, creating special effects like a wave, lightning. It can be used to diminish a moving sprite like a wave.

That's for this time, next time, I'll explain about scaling and rotating.
