poolcore can be nice, i like it because it's calming and i was usually daydreaming about it (i had personal little dreamworlds of watery places like this) before remembering it was an aesthetic
hmm i kinda wish i could fixate more deeply though, i forget basically everything and it's kinda hard to totally enjoy anything in a meaningful way... but i relate, mostly bc it's hard to pay attention to everything ;v;

i personally agree with your statement, but probably for different reasons, and im unsure if i can really suggest my agreement means i necessarily understand you or "get it", but... if it's fair for me to assume a personally sentimental perspective from your question, i do sympathize with that... :)
personally, hugging pillows sounds more preferable to hugging people, but not necessarily because of any lack of affection or care on my part... mostly its just that i dont like touching people or being touched, and also pillows are far more adjustable than the comparatively firm bodies people tend to have, each of which are tethered to a rigid skeletal structure. their flesh and attributes have distinct forms and textures with distinct sensations, with particular kinds of warmth or scent as well
also, hugs can feel kind of performative for me when they're done with other people... i imagine it's possible that this would change with particularly close friends to whom you entrust yourself entirely, but i haven't met those kinds of people in person and i'm far too fearful to meet people and have any kind of effect or impression on them, let alone make myself vulnerable to people
pillows are comparatively simple and malleable, and you're not worried about being awkward with a pillow, and you're not worried about breaking a non-existent spine, or squeezing too hard, et cetera
realistically finding a pillow to hug has been easier than finding a person
