Please do not use old map examples to justify your mapping or the rankability of anything of the stuff in your map, the map you linked is dated back as almost 1 year ago, however how it got slipped by I am not sure, probably either that case was different and got allowed, or the ranking BATs missed it, in either case it is true that the start and end of a slider cannot overlap.
I haven't checked the slider in question but i was asked to confirm what Raging Bull pointed out.
Edit: I personally checked the slider (on a screenshot) now, i'd say it's a gray area, i personally wouldn't bubble/rank it but i wouldn't say it's 100% unallowed, it is highly recommend you do change it tho

The map is very nice, but it's not polished quite to a sheen yet. here's my 2 cents.
