Interface looks like a mix between the latest engine and the PS2/PSP1/PSP2 interface, heavily focused on the newer engine obviously. It still has that feel of being a Taiko PSP while integrating the feel of the newer games, that is, PS2-7 onwards.
Before I go to Game Start, I'll check out the Download tab. Gonna unlock Oni before I sleep tonight. Tomorrow, I'll check out story mode a bit.

And because the latest software supports 'save state'ing the game, the game doesn't have to reboot upon using the Download function unlike PSP2. Cool~

FYI, last thing. Medley mode just strings up songs one after the other from start to finish. The songs are simply played in full one after the other. Nothing special really.
Although it opens up more combo voices from don-chan, since if you can imagine at least punishment and kurenai, that would already add up to 1998, and the minimum song count is three.

@Zekira: I remember messing around with the perimeters for recruits in MGS Peace Walker. THAT one was a doozy. No matter what I tried, it always reverted back to it's original perimeters, even after saving. Nice to see that this one doesn't.

Try this mod out with Gekishou, you have what is the closest thing to a Firce map on authentic. lol

2.) Start Search for Fixed Value
3.) Parameters should be 32-bit, then look for the correspoinding hex equivalent of the current hit counter
4.) I searched the game's entire RAM and yielded only one result... address was somewhere around 0x008#####
5.) From there I just simply set those 32 bits to 99999 (reading of values in the RAM is reversed. just reminding)
6.) Exited my file then loaded it again. Received spam mail until I got to main menu and got 99999. Manually saved game.
Also Gekishou was incredibly easier than I expected, just arm-breaking when played on the PSP or the arcade (PSP has this forever problem of having to carry the entire LCD while playing, so the stamina strain is freaking high compared to playing on a PS2/Wii Classiccon)
Anyway, surprised that I only posted right now despite the 3 hour break I had earlier? Well, I've been playing PSPDX amidst doing my assignments earlier, explored a few of the 10 stars on Oni and went on to start the Omi*something* Battle mode (the story mode, basically). I'm in a really suspicious place right now and I'm really sleepy, so I can't describe everything I want to describe through words alone (I fetched some screenshots, which I can't obtain right now since I don't have a Sony USB connector at the moment), so I'll try to bullet form them:
-Don-chan (you) pop out from Miko's head. Best portal ever.
-Someone tell m why Miko calls you "Don-shama" because this is the first time I've heard the suffix "Shama" used.
-Cuteness overload as the other generic Taikos get a full smooth 60-frame animation never seen in any Taiko game before of them beating the drums.
-Whatever your 'base' and your Omi*something* is called... or something, well shit the 'base' is named "*yourname**insert some two other kanji here*" so you could've figured that I gave up on trying to figure out how to pronounce it. As for that big thing that your army carries, I think it's that Omi*something* word I've been trying to remember since a while ago which I just can't remember oTL
-Battle system is pretty basic. The 'bonus' conditions are very similar to the DS2 win conditions for battling against other donders or the CPU Dokon Taikos. However, a new condition, 'Random' was added, where you won't know what the actual bonus condition is until the end of the song. By these conditions I meant most perfect hits, most maximum combo, most current combo, most valid hits, etc. Whichever side wins the bonus condition gets an end-song finisher to push back the opposing army a HUGE distance, so getting this bonus condition is HIGHLY recommended as it almost always guarantees a win.
-Wait, why did I discuss the bonus condition immediately? So you start off with a drum army count determined by how much training and how much you've recovered you did back at your base. There was also this second stat below the army count stat which I assume is either 'max army' or 'power level', because I'm pretty sure Tetsuo still kept getting the distance advantage on me even if I was FCing the song and he started with 4 less drums than I did; I actually won by bonus condition.
-Prior to a battle you can set your attacks and support items. I haven't found much yet, but recruiting Tetsuo will grant you the Gauge Boost support item. I'm not sure of the max number of items you can put in your Omi*something* as I only have Tetsuo's boost so far, but one of the random challengers that visited my base did use a set of 3 items: 2 attacks and 1 support. These items just automatically activate at certain points on the song, so yeah, you can't voluntarily troll your opponent like activating the audio-busting attack on a deathstream or something like that.
-Details about what story is being formed will have to wait for later, since I can't describe it at the moment due to me typing this while there's a lesson going on at the front of the class.

Its Ura has HS2 for pretty much the whole songNot actuallY HS2; the BPM was actually doubled and set to 8/4 instead of just putting HS2 (you can see this since the dancers and Don are having seizures throughout the entire song)

Speaking of which, the game has an Achievements feature. These give you hints as to what you should actually be doing to unlock some stuff.
This is also the only way to obtain the guest character costumes: to get the Monster Hunter/ Ryu Gotoku of the End / im@s / Miku costumes, you have to complete the "*franchise* fan" and "*franchise* suki" achievements, which require clearing their songs on Kantan and Futsuu.

This is my first ever 8 Song Medley Mode score. The songs were: Kurenai->Angel Dream->Wanya World->Don't Cut (Ura) -> Black Rose Apostle (Ura) -> Punishment -> Rotter Tarmination (Ura) -> Hatsune Miku no Gekishou (Ura). I combobroke on three songs: Wanya World (sadistic combobreaker on the Vocaloid gibberish part), Rotter Tarmination (would you look at the last 4 songs I picked? If I added M.Sai that would've killed my hand completely), Gekishou (too tired to even bother lol)
After the 1000 combo sound, the next comboburst sound is actually at 2000 combo. Don-chan blurting out "Niisen combo" kinda distracted me and thus I missed at 2336... lol.
And now time to horde post screenshots from Omikoshi Battle Story Mode
Yeah, you get to use this badass Omishiko over here. The orange taikos are your army.

This was the cuteness overload shot I wanted everyone to see. Unfortunately it's not that cute just as a still image though... those orange drums fully animated to keep strumming on their drums... eep~
These screenshots indicate armies that you will battle for the first time. Notice the dark aura they're emitting? Early in the story, some dark entity temporarily took control of Don's body, which I think pretty much sets the plot of the story. I think.
When you win against these, Don sucks up the dark aura from these other Taikos. Actually that's kind of unnerving...

Notice how the setting in the background is your base. Yeah, random other armies come to challenge you in your base. If you refuse, your army count reduces by 1 (at least that's what hapened to me when I accidentally refused). Also notice how this army has 3 items with them.
When you get the bonus condition, your army literally runs over the opposition as they push it a lot of meters farther.

You didn't have to bring that face all the way to the base though...

Tetsuo - Duration type. On activation, the Omishiko gauge increases by 1.5x faster for the duration of the support.
Donko - the Omishiko gauge gets filled on activation. I think this is useful for songs that are insanely note heavy and thus the gauge fills really slow
Mekadon - Duration type. On activation, Auto plays the notes for the duration of the item.

It's probably another gimmick note like the bell notes in psp 1&2. Haven't actually encountered it yet though.
Another small thing about omikoshi (or is it omikoji?) mode, you can actually choose where you start. So Zekira most likely atarted with Tokyo, but I went for the southermost part first. The support characters you get also differs depending on location, which is why I have Unagi instead of Tetsuo.

I don't think you unlock a song from 300 plays; PSP1 and PSP2 didn't have one, and there are already a large number of songs without the 300 plays...
