I would just make the entire desktop one Eyefinity group but unfortunately my second monitor (left-side) cannot do 120Hz, which I just cannot do without since 60Hz LCD screens hurt my eyes for anything bar text and video.

Aha, once you know where everything is, you're rolling... I don't really see the point of an empty desktop - it's like buying a table and putting it in the middle of a room, but NEVER using it for ANYTHING at all. It might look good decoratively, but it voids the purpose.
And yeah, there's always trial and error. =P

I seriously should get around to replacing my ages BenQ G2412HD with another 120Hz monitor, it pains my eyes to see anything on it and it's slowing dying as it randomly switches off or doesn't turn off..

It's 1280x1024, the others are 1920x1080. I'm too lazy to buy another 24" monitor.
