My top favorite is Princess Tutu. Fairytales, ballet, classical music and screwing around with the Magical Girl genre before Madoka made it cool. It's a really excellent show, highly recommended.
Honorable mentions go to Paranoia Agent, Baccano!, Laputa: Castle in the Sky and Welcome to the NHK! And a bunch of others, but I'm limiting myself to five...so those are my top five.
This season? Definitely Madoka Magica. ...Yeah, I really enjoy magical girl shows.

I wish i can say No Naku Koro Ni but the anime sucks. i prefer the novels.

Baccano! and Durara! are both awesome. If Ryohgo Narita ever made another one I would watch it like a rabid hyperactive 5 year old.
