It's just a game. People are bound to cheat. I'm just trying to say that's it's impossible to put an end to it. Still, the report system may have its flaws but its better than nothing. Keep up the good work pepps.

I think its important to note that we the regular users of osu! do not handle cheaters/score reports. That's (probably) left up to the few admins we have (as it rightly should be). I'm pretty sure they know the current system and will make improvements based on their needs. Since we can't use the system, how can we say what to do to improve it?

In the spreadsheet it says in comments "Freddo".. i guess then he was banned for multi account? If that is so ... i think that account was never used (joined 2 july from 2010, and last visit 2 july from 2010).

Can we see the proof then? Ignacio was #74 or around so at the time of banning, why would he need a flashlight hack anyways?

You want me to tell you why he cheated? I could only take guesses at that, but since you asked here's a few:
* He wanted to do better at FL mod.
* He was experimenting and got carried away.
* Someone sharing his PC installed the cheat and he started using it and couldn't stop.

First there was the first wave of cheaters. That was the warning.
The punishment was that the player was banned. Is that so hard to comprehend? This isn't rocket science.
I like how if a 'famous' or 'pro' player gets banned for cheating, everybody goes "OH NO HE DIDN'T CHEAT".

doesn't really matter if you have proof of him not cheating, because clearly he cheated at least once, which is resulting in his ban.

I really think I need to write up a blog post about the whole... cheating thing. It totally leaves me in awe that people are still willing to side with accused cheaters against the creator of a game to try and prove their innocence. They are standing up for what are in most cases complete strangers that they have had no contact outside an online chat room. I've been through the backlash of various regional communities fighting against me to have someone proven innocent (note that no-one yet has been falsely accused) and am getting quite sick of it.
Banning cheaters is a necessary action to take, but I don't like spending too much time on it. In the last two weeks I have spent over 20 hours working on improving the automation of the ban process, adding tools so others can help ban cheaters etc. This is time that could be spent improving osu! for those that don't cheat. Of course, this time is time which I chose to allocate to this task in order to keep people happy and keep the online rankings fair. Having to deal with multiple email threads, abuse being yelled at me on IRC and a lot of forum PMs is something I don't want to spend my time on.
If you don't agree with my decisions on who is cheating, then please take this opportunity to leave osu! and find something else to play instead. I am not interested in offerings of videos proving anything, as they don't help. Nor am I interested in knowing that you know a cheater in real life and your opinion that they would never cheat.
If you choose this option, I do suggest you should reconsider how much you trust other human beings, and who your friends are. My judgements are both automatically deducted (in a way that can't be wrong. as in 100%. 101% if you like) and checked individually by myself or another administrator just in case.

I'd just like to add that trying to prove that someone ISN'T a cheater by recording a video is a bad form of integrity. Recordings and videos can easily be manipulated in favor of the accused, which is another lie in itself. If this is the path you are trying to attempt, stop for a minute and think about what you are doing. You are lying to a community of 600,000+ members, to protect a lying player, who has cheated and lied to said community about earning his score. You're doing nothing but making yourself look just as bad as the cheater in question.
The other problem I have against recording of plays, is that what is stopping you from installing another, un-modified copy of osu! and playing from that? Great, you have the potential to play without cheating. Congratulations. That's what you should have done from the beginning. Keep in mind that just because you're a hardcore gamer does not stand grounds for banning for cheating, nor will it prove that at one point or another, you used a cheating method to enhance your score. osu! has other methods for proving scores are modified however, but that information is not going to be released.
If you people think that peppy, the creator of the free game that he has provided for peoples enjoyment, is unaware of how his code is supposed to work, I would also recommend finding another game to play. I give each person a chance based on their particular situation.
Needs some sort of verification mate. His writing style (he has made a few forum posts)? The fact that he's seriously scaled the ranking in less than 800 plays?
I'm almost sure that acc is a multi from Ignacio , taking the same tops he lost when he got banned , and in case he isn't , it's still a multi account so deserves the ban.
I'll ask again.Can Ignacio return to the game,if he confesses?

I've never cheated before and I'm not on the list but I hear a lot of talk about a Mineral Hack. Like in the comments in replays and stuff. May someone please exlain to me what that is? I'm not going to use it since I don't cheat in rhythm games....there is no need to >_>

Rokodo uses a double monitor and he has a lot of Taiko #1s (including one of mine, in which I used HD+HR+FL legitimately). Apparently it's not even considered cheating, even though IMO it most definitely should be.

I think it is clear to see, that there are the notes of KITAsaitama2000(name edit for LM, lol). That mean's, all you just now need, is the feeling for the BPM and that's all.
So people with a really good BPM feeling are possible to play like this without doubly monitor.
Makes sence, or not? Am I'm wrong?

I believe what he means is watching the sheets while playing the map, not memorizing them and then playing. memorizing them from a sheet and then playing would be completely legit (and awesome) but sadly most of the times you can't distinguish between the two cases.mekadon wrote:

And have experience of playing in these maps. After I played this maps with spun out and realized that I could achieved #1 - i played this maps without him. How about Hatsune_Miku, Kochiya_Sanae? They is too cheaters
