heya, Off-Topic!
at the turn of this first presidential term, it's safe to say we've changed a bit. we took some steps to transition out of a rough era marked by a sink into low-quality shitposting by various outlaws, a time where we suffered a lack of interesting content. we decided we'd try something fun and dumb, something to try and reinvigorate the forum.
well, then OT!Government happened, along with the concept of a forum president actually carrying over as the first presidential election was announced. we've created a constitution of sorts for the hell of it as well.
has all of this really improved OT? to be honest, i dunno. i think it has, to some limited degree. although our solution was to reconstruct a large pile of flavorful junk on top of an ancient cesspool, it did add some odd substance. the governmental approach wasn't really used to much effect, but it did seem like something was actually happening for once.
somewhere along the way, we opted to create more to fluff up the OT!Government idea, by adding our own “parliament” of sorts. we'd hoped to utilize a larger board of members to present and discuss ideas for the revitalization of the forum. that… sorta worked, but was nowhere near where it’d take us if it were in fully functional effect.
we did end up with some mildly amusing moments, a couple of which involved an act of journalism following a disastrous event which became a "scandal" of sorts, as well as a... pleasant visit by Ephemeral.
ultimately, it’s been a decent year. we’ve begun something with potential, but whether it’ll carry through, well, it’ll be up to the next president of OT to oversee.
it’s been a nice run! let’s see where things go from here, and enjoy the ride.
