Hey, here's my mod. Green stuff can be ignored completely, they are merely design opinions and some nazi stuff.

[General]:
  1. I suggest that you rename the diffs, you can't make a 'Hard' diff for this kind of map.
[DC's Easy]:
  1. 01:54:836 - Add a timing section here which increases the volume of the hit sounds a little. The song gets progressively louder here and increasing the hit sound volume would sound better (not by much though).
  2. 02:00:111 - ^
  3. 02:02:748 - Revert back to normal volume here, the one you used before 01:54:836.
[Normal]:
  1. 00:08:353 (4) - I don't like how this slider looks. Try this.
  2. 00:11:979 (7) - ^
  3. 00:22:528 - Add a timing section here and increase the volume by a little.
  4. 00:31:759 (1,2,3,4) - Spacing. Move 2,3,4 by 1 grid to the left. You can try using grid level 4 to space this better as well.
  5. 01:05:386 (2,3,4,5,6) - Spacing. Use grid level 4, it will be much easier to shape a star without spacing issues. Like this.
  6. 01:13:957 (1) - I don't know if this was your intention, but remove whistle from the slider. Instead, add whistle to the start, middle and end points. Sounds better.

  2. In general I think you used too many long sliders. Most of them can be shortened and filled with circles in between them. I will not say which ones exactly cause you wanted to map like this, so it's just a suggestion.
  3. 00:22:528 - Add a timing section here and increase the volume by a little.
  4. 00:37:364 (7,8,9) - Spacing. I know that grid allows (9) to be placed like this, but rather mirror it with (7). So, 1 grid to the left on (9).
  5. 00:43:627 (1) - (nazi) 1 grid up so it mirrors (8) from the last combo.
  6. 01:15:276 (1) - I don't know if this was your intention, but remove whistle from the slider. Instead, add whistle to the start of the slider.

Nway, your song's quite unique, coz all of them are Easy. A bit confusing though. Here's my take on your maps:

[DC's Easy]
Some of the notes and sliders are too close to the top and bottom of the screen, IMO. You can reduce the distance spacing to 0.9x
to preserve the arrangement of the notes (which I like) and readjust everything to this spacing. A lot of work, but it'll be worth the effort.

1:45:935 - 2:02:089 - I think the hitsounds' volume can be increased during this period, since the horn is quite loud.
Maybe use normal hitsounds, but with a lower volume?
1:55:495 [2] - Kinda out of place comparing with the violin, maybe you could remove this one?
2:00:440 [7] - New combo here.
2:09:671 [3] - New combo here.
2:23:517 [1,2,3] - Shorten slider [1] by having it end at 2:24:012, and pull both [2] and [3] 1/4 beat earlier. This fits better with the singer.
2:47:583 - Maybe a circle here?

Well,I understand that it's hard to map without rhytm in the song,but still it could be easier,I believe.

Don't have much to say.
As I said above this map is about following clear distance spacing.There're really few moments I was depending on music/vocals.
So different spacing and jumps make it not hard to play,but to read.A lot.
And probably 1/4 is overmap.

I really love Regina Spektor,and I deeply respect people who tries to map songs that seem unmappable to others.

But I'm not sure if I can help anyhow,so just take my star and good luck.

  • - You should increase the distance snap for more jumpy diff, this is kinda slow :o
    - focus harder on the vocals, use more circles or faster sliders; makes map faster and more fitting for a hard diff

Bloody love Regina Spektor. Well done on managing to make a playable and not boring map out of this song though.

Hard:
00:23:188 (4) - I don't think this fits well here, and a better pattern would be like this.
00:27:803 (1,2,3,4) - Awkward vocal notsyncing. Nothing to be done about that, of course.
01:04:726 (1) - This, and all the similar sliders, would look MUCH better if they were more symmetrical. Even just making the sliderpoints symmetrical would be enough, I reckon.
01:37:034 - The hitsounds feel a bit dull for this 'epic' part. I would raise the hitsound volume to as much as 50%.
02:27:803 (1,2) - I don't think this jump suits this part of the music, especially not one that big. Spacing these normally cannot hurt.
02:57:574 (5) - For mainly readability purposes, I would make this much longer. I would recommend to 03:00:651, but your choice.

Normal:
00:04:726 (2,3) - I think this pattern could work better as 2 1/1 sliders, similar to this example.
01:22:528 (5) - Add a finish at the end of this?
01:37:034 - Hitsounds, same as last difficulty.

DoimondCrash's Easy:

  1. The spacing is really high for an Easy... Also, the hitsounds are really too low in the beginning and in the end.

  1. Remove the countdown from this diff since the other difficulties don't have it.
  2. The hitsounds are too low most of the time...
  3. 00:01:100 (1,2) - Very harsh beginning for a Normal. It starts on a red tick (which is confusing) and with a stack (which is even more confusing).
  4. 00:07:034 (1,2,3,4) - This placement was extremely confusing to me. I couldn't tell the rhythm at all.
  5. 01:32:417 (4) - Unsnapped.
  6. 01:33:408 (1) - This spinner becomes suddenly loud. It sounds really bad.
  7. 01:40:331 (1) - Why is this so far from the previous object ?
  8. 02:00:111 (4) - I wasn't expecting the second repeat at all
  9. 02:10:660 (3) - It being stacked under (2) breaks its symmetry with (5)...

That's the only thing i didn't fixed, and i have explicated why. The things i modified were right, so i accepted them and modified, thanks. DC will fix on his own, i suppose :)

Already discussed custom combo colours and the timing (it's probably more trouble than its worth for a song like this). I also raised concerns about the last slider, but apparently several MATs/BATs are okay with it, so whatevs. Have a bubble.

Lol I remember that I modded this ages ago. Here we go again, I guess (this time it will be much shorter though).

  1. Metadata:
    1. You might want to force the default skin because of the great amount of objects touching the scorebar, mainly on DC's difficulty.
    2. Would you mind disabling Letterbox during breaks, the top one overlaps a part of the "Regina" in the background, and honestly I don't think that it looks pretty good (well, at least it happens in DC's difficuly, which is the only one that has a break).
  2. Tags:
    1. I guess you could add DC?
    2. I wonder what would happen if you remove Narnia from the tags. Wouldn't the search engine still find the map because of the source? You should ask somebody who knows better than me about that, maybe someone in #modhelp.

  1. Well, mostly I would complain about the overlaps with the scorebar but if you force the dafault skin, I guess it's ok.

  2. 01:05:386 (1) - Hmm, this finish doesn't make much sense here. Rather than placing it in this circle, for consistency with you previous hitsound placing, I think the finish should be here: 01:04:726 (7) -
  3. 02:31:100 (3) - Same as above, I think that the finish should be at 02:31:759 (4) - instead of here.
  4. 02:56:814 - Uh... :

    Basically, the timing section is like inside the slider, and that can't happen :(

  1. 01:02:748 (3) - Not a big deal though, this one stack under 2, but it's kinda hard to tell while playing with HD mode since it's hidden by the slider path of 2, so maybe you can make this note stack by moving few girds left and up
