Oh, yeah. You're damn right about that.
Yeah, I figured you probably liked a challenge or something. I like being so overpowered that I can make any enemy my bitch though. I hate that it takes the same amount of XP to level up a grenade. They're so annoying to use.Ivalset wrote:
Just saying it'll probably pull another 20-30 hours out of you!
I really hate being overleveled though, zero challenge.
Need to finish my third playthrough actually. I want to get to the last difficulty eventually, but that might take a while.
I've heard good things about singularity. At least, entertaining things. I might have been mistaking it for something else, but I hear the "It's a lot like Bioshock" comment getting passed around, which might be a token worth value once I play Bioshock 2 and then have the urge to play something else that's like Bioshock.Seibei4211 wrote:
I think awp might enjoy this game since it really tries to be like Bioshock. It's the the luggage searching, E99 upgrades (aka Adam upgrades), gun uprades, stuff like that.
Yeah, it's incredibly like Bioshock, except easier. Definitely easier. And the story's kinda stupid, too, but it doesn't really matter. This game has this pretty sweet rifle that lets you guide the bullet as it flies through the air and it explodes on impact, and you get to see the guy's body part or head fly off before you go back to normal view. And catching rockets to toss back at enemies is pretty amusing. As cool as some of these weapons are, though, half of them are useless. You just use the assault rifle, shotgun, and gatling gun the whole time. Except for special sniper needs.awp wrote:

Need a new computer though and spending habits tell me that isn't going to happen any time soon
I've only heard bad things about it though.Seibei4211 wrote:

Absolutely anything on Earth is better than Splatterhouse. Besides, I like the first Force Unleashed, and the only complaint I hear about FU2 is that it's ridiculously short, which doesn't really bug me. As long as it's fun like the first one was. I actually want a short game right now, cause LBP2 is just around the corner.adam2046 wrote:

Gran Pulse is loaded with enemies that will readily destroy you. It's a bit hard to gauge what will and what won't. Never under-estimate the value of buffs/debuffs. Debrave is fucking vicious - it's not some pitiful 50% damage modifier; I got hit with that against some avian foe and went from 4k to 600 damage a shot (which is still poor damage given Fang's sloppy 20ks)Mafiamaster wrote:
I tried playing FFXIII a few days ago after not playing it for a while. Gameovers left and right, I don't know if I was just under-leveled orI just sucked.I did skipped a lot of enemies and didn't grind too much but heck, I was even getting frequent gameovers on the trash!
If you wanted I could! I think I'm GR11 and fully rebirthed etc.Mafiamaster wrote:
GR is 9. Level 48 with no rebirths yet. Yes, I still play from time to time.
What? You want to quest with me or something? =D
That's exactly where I was trying to grind, lol. Once I first got there, I completed the first mission then decided to go farther into the story. Those robots pretty much obliterated me after using their "upgrade version" move. My debuffer (Vanille) probably isn't good enough yet though because I don't think she even has that skill you mentioned (or even a lot of debuffing skills yet).awp wrote:

Did you just rebirth every chance you got right at 50? Some person a month ago on it told me to wait until GR10 before doing that, though of course I don't see a problem with rebirthing early. I'd rather be gaining both exp and gr then just gr. The way we handled that one Gigas was pretty awesome. You made him sleep and we just started buffing/debuffing. I was laughing because I've never seen that happen in the game before. Usually everyone just wails on him full group-wise. I stopped using those salves because they almost never really work for me. But seeing you, it's like 100% chance. Maybe I'll try it out later... much later.Ivalset wrote:

I'm surprised that you're interested in Mass Effect 2. Have you tried the demo? The combat is some of the most blatant cover-based shooting I've seen. You really have to duck into cover way more than you actually get to shoot. You'll probably get to upgrade that, but I don't see it making much of a difference. And the weird thing about aiming is, like, you can only shoot what's "targetted". So weird. Those are the two things that are keeping me from dropping $60 on it.awp wrote:
I do intend to get LBP2, for sure. I don't play LBP1 enough (probably due to my irl friends being primarily Mario gamers and I dislike anon-online play) but I certainly enjoy it. Of course, I've got no intent to buy it on launch; 60 dollar price tags are not my cup of tea. Ditto Mass Effect 2. It looks like a fun third person shooter.
I kinda agree with this as I played the first one when my brother brought home his Xbox. But yeah, I couldn't really get into it as it was just too boring and the story didn't really grab me.Seibei4211 wrote:

We are talking about ME2, right? The game that limited its RPG elements compared to the first one? Just making sure. It was an okay TPS, but lacking in RPG elements.Ivalset wrote:
It's an rpg first and a tps second.
Also, charging shit as a vanguard will never get old.
Well, the demo didn't really have a shotgun, did it? I think I would've used it if there was one since it's my favorite play-style most of the time. The only other weapon I remember gettings was an assault rifle and a useless piece of junk heavy pistol thing. There was a lot about the game that I didn't get time to fully understand either. Like different ammo types pretty much flew over my head. Do you only get, like, one shot or something? And I thought Overload was supposed to make gas tanks explode, but that never seemed to work, so maybe I got that wrong, too.Ivalset wrote:
I don't really know what to tell you. It sounds like you were using an inappropriate weapon for the range you were fighting at. Vanguards specialize in shotguns and charging into enemies and fucking them up. Also a bit of biotics. You should really use biotics.
I didn't have any problems pistol'ing down the rocket launcher guys, so...

I got LBP2 and I think it's much improved on the first. They added so much stuff, both in the story and for users to use, it just overall has a better feel. My only gripe is that I can't import my stuff from the first game as the file was copied off of a different PS3 since we had to replace it.
Should've come out yesterday in the UK.renafgt wrote:

I might be getting LBP2 as well soon. Haven't played the first one because it really didn't look appealing to me. I'll see what all the hype is about when I do get it.
Oh yeah, also got Blazblue: Continuum Shift today.

at the risk of igniting a flame war based on my limited experiences the 360 seems better from a performance standpoint; load times for disc games are a lot shorter in some cases and the dashboard features are more robust and plentifulrust45 wrote:

You could buy a third party adapter thing but, that's not exactly ideal...awp wrote:

As much as I like the feel of the controller I hate that the face buttons are like the SNES buttons but mixed up; X is Y, Y is X, A is B and B is ASeibei4211 wrote:
