ANOTHER PSP2 download song?!!What's on with you,Namco?!!
(I propose using Manco as a nickname for Namco, like how Konmai is Konami's nickname lol)

Today's new batch of DL songs are "Future Labo" and "Toccata and Fugue and rock".
While I like those two songs,it still feels like a weird choice OTL

lol Future Lab.

It was one of 12.5's best Namco Originals but scored last in the popularity test together with Many wow bang. Even Ego Ego Atakushi lasted longer, and that's not half as nice.

I swear Ego Ego's popularity is due to the fact that it's sung by a one of them idols in idolM@STER.
And perhaps also because of all that tsundere..?Yandere...?..ness.

Just a little nitpick of The End Of Your Life 2000's introduction in the 2000 article:
I was wondering, about 'trwah', 'set', 'sehk', 'cease', 'katr',
are you just typing out the pronounciation here?
Cuz 3,7,5,6,4 in french is "Trois", "Sept","Cinq","Six" and "Quatre"
Lokamp
Corrected the 2000 article according to your suggests, crystalsuicune. Thanks!

@a-bluu: found a decent source for taiko custom hitsounds, but I haven't found ALL the Wii and Ds custom sounds yet. Anyone can help here?

@arken: I need your assistance. Can you find and list me the Taiko songs of Pokemon and Hitman Reborn animes? flyboy asked one of these weeks ago, and if the rumore about the Ura mode of LISTEN TO THE STEREO is true, it can be a good startup :3

Yes, it's pronunciation. Because just looking at the French words for the numbers doesn't give any idea of how to say them out. French is weird.

@Lokamp: I know the Pokemon ones well. Advance Adventure (AniMat), Spurt (Taiko 9), Together, High Touch, Saikou Everyday

Hey there =) I really want to play jubutsu 2000. I saw in Taiko Time blog that we have to play 300 time in "play mode".
If I let my Wii play in vacuum 300 time in the ghost manor mini game, it'll be ok ? To gain coin, it was fast !

And about Jubutsu, you have good ear ! I'm french and I dont't "saw" that there were number at the beggining X)
Lokamp
Hello there, kirumi! You have a good eye for a speed coin-gaining method. :3
But for unlock Joubutsu2000, the 300 plays must be done in the regular play modes! Your plays with the 7 minigames will not be counted.

Same thing for Doom Noiz and for other playing unlocks!

I passed BRA and Doom Noiz on my first try.
I passed BRA Ura in two.
I passed Kita Saitama and Ryougen no Mai in three.
I passed Hataraku and Rotter Ura in five.

But I could not pass Joubutsu even after nine tries. Discuss.

@Ksndr: YOU'RE FRENCH. Can you help translate the lyrics? I'd very much appreciate it :D

I passed Hataraku and Rotter Ura in five. Hataraku in 1 (full kiai gauge'd), Rotter in 15... ^^"

I passed Kita Saitama and Ryougen no Mai in three. Both of these took me a million tries... but that's when I sucked at hard songs xD
I passed Hataraku and Rotter Ura in five. Passed both of these 1st try on Owata, waaaaay too many tries on regular Taiko though. ._.

But I could not pass Joubutsu even after nine tries. Discuss. I could probably never ever pass that song ;_; it's soooo overpowered, it's not even funny.

Potential BG sources for the Kikyoku series.
So..awesome..

EDIT:New map! This time it's The Dirty of Loudness, one of Tatsh' most famous songs.
This song is notorious for its 全押し notes, but I can't replicate that unfortunately(since it'll be impossible to hit
considering taiko's gameplay mechanism)
Aside from the streams near the end of the song, the rest is pretty much all "ddk d k ddk d k" and similar stuff.
I blame the song's straightforward rhythm.

I think this beatmap sounds better with the old hitsounds than the new ones (probably because new!kat lags a bit?IDK)
http://puu.sh/xSn
Zekira
This song is notorious for its 全押し notes
What are the 全押し notes supposed to be? I'm familiar with the chart of DoL (I passed Expert... well, once, but never again...), but I don't know a lot of terminologies.
crystalsuicune
Basically,it's all 7 notes+turntable at the same time.
If it's double play, make it 14 notes and 2 turntables.

If I want to put that in Taiko,it'll be both a large don and a large katsu at the same time.
Zekira
...pffff I knew I was thinking of the wrong game. God.

Goes to show how Tatsh is everywhere. Like, really.
crystalsuicune
FYI,全押し shows up in the final part of the song. Y'know, "dun-dun-dun-dun-dun dun dun DUN!"

And yeah,Tatsh's everywhere.That guy did vocaloid,touhou,iM@S,lucky star,haruhi,taiko,music gun gun,what have you.

Dropping in to say I've updated MAPPU2000's navigation system and that I need to update the CMS core... so don't panic if you see that something has broken. I'll be sure to take precautions over backing up the authentic map links before I start doing anything so we will at least have that if something goes KABOOM.

Just saying that if any of my assigned feels like saving text copy backups of the HTML code for the authentic map pages then please feel free to do so, just so our risk is spread:

The thing is, well, daily automatic backups cost money I don't have and it isn't worth it for such a small operation.

@aquabluu: Recently did a clean install of Windows 7 because I upgraded to an SSD for my boot drive... the end result being I wiped my old drive, EPSON FONTS going with it. Do you think you could link me a copy? Thanks.

I dunno how many TaikOsu from me orz...

crystalsuicune
Huh?You wanna TaikOsu my maps?
Well,I think some of my maps are TaikOsu-able..
Maps like Second Heaven,ALBIDA,Sayonara Heaven,V,and bass 2 bass.
I -think- Anisakis and VANESSA are suitable too,but I'm not too sure.

And stay the hell away from Snow Goose,Kachoufuusetsu,Fuushikaden and Nageki no Ki.

BTW,fun fact:
灼熱 Beach-Side Bunny has a 3% clear rate only, and is considered the toughest IIDX song yet.
Since IIDX also gives us crazy shit like MENDES,Mei,Himiko,3y3s,Nageki no Ki and whatnot,
that's...quite a feat.Especially when 灼熱 Beach-Side Bunny sounds nothing like a boss song.

Too lazy to crapshit right now, but can someone find me the Kantan, Futsuu, and Muzukashii charts of Stepping Wind?

...well, I've been in a period of deep nostalgia ever since this afternoon. I was rummaging through my stash of old games, mostly PSX games. May be a bit off-topic, but lemme describe what just happened to me... (I don't have some sort of blog or public diary I can put this up in, maybe I should get one lol)

-the first one that caught my attention was a 1999 PSX game named Kingsley's Adventure, one of the most unpopular underrated games (IMO) that shared gameplay with typical platformers (making it not as exciting for gamers, scoring only average in reviews) which appealed to me when I was a child. Nostalgia point #1.
-I was playing some random TnT tracks while rummaging through my stashes. Eventually I remember that TnT = 765. So I suddenly kept looking for games from 765 that I loved. This is where I found my authentic copy of Kaze no Klonoa 1 (JP), with an original copy of Klonoa 1 (NA) alongside it. Needless to say that was Nostalgia point #2 as I search for my original copy of Klonoa 2 (NA) and a rugged original copy of Kaze no Klonoa 2 (JP), then later crying at how my copy of Klonoa Heroes (JP) isn't working anymore, and so is my Klonoa GBA 1 (NA). Then by coincidence, Stepping Wind played on my player. Go figure.
-After some more rummaging, I found a stash that kept all of the PSX fighting games that I played as a kid. I didn't want to believe that I actually compiled something like it, but it was still there: Destrega, Rival Schools, and all 3 vs. series games by Capcom, ending with the revolutionary Marvel vs. Capcom 1, which was the point in my gaming life that changed my entire perception on fighting games. Remembering the evolution of fighting games, Nostalgia point #3.
-I decided to look at the bottom of the stash to look for the first games I ever played. Believe it or not, I found a rare article in Street Racer, the only black-bottom disc I have. This was the second game I played on the PSX (first being the Midway Arcade Classics compilation), and while I don't remember much of it, I will still remember it as the father of party-type racing games. Nostalgia point #4.
-Alongside that, I found my original authentic copy of Armored Core: Project Phantasma. Mech-fighting isn't my type of games, but Armored Core is a different case as it seems to have captured me as I still play the newer games now. Comparing the old engine to the new one... Nostalgia Point #5.
-Later I found what seemed to be a copy of Dance Dance Revolution (the first one!). I didn't play it as much before, but realized afterwards that I'm still a devout DDR'r when I found my copy of DDR2, 3, and 4, shortly after. I then looked at the dance pad I had on my wall, then realizing that it just turned TEN YEARS OLD a few days ago, and I'm still using it now to dominate DDRX and DDRX2. Nostalgia point #6. I still salute DDR as the father of rhythm-type video games even up 'til today.
-Seeing as how Taiko is one of the few fortes I have now, the last thing I wanted to do was gather up all the rhythm games I played ever since I was a child. Parappa the Rapper, the first ever rhythm game I played, was an ultimate nostalgia for me as my entire field of relatives (excluding parents durr) was partying with this game, how much we loved messing around with the songs. Bust a Groove/Move 1 and 2 (which I had an original copy of the NA versions) was the next, which were actually my second turning points in rhythm gaming, the first being DDR2. After some more failures, guess what I found... It may have been broken into two pieces ( :< ), but I found a real artifact that I never thought I'd see. I never knew Taiko until a few months after I joined osu!... or so I thought. I found... a BROKEN ORIGINAL TAIKO NO TATSUJIN PS2 2 DISC. It was so busted and faded that the image on the CD couldn't actually be seen anymore, but it was visible enough so that you could see the logo of Taiko no Tatsujin back then.

I... I don't know what to say. It must be destiny or something... it's like I was united back with something I lost for a long time without memory of. As I was trying hard to remember why I had the disc... I suddenly can remember those times while I was still a kid: I actually hated Taiko back then, mainly because of the shitty graphics of that really, really, REALLY old engine, and its concept of a rhythm game didn't appeal to me. Well, it's probably because I didn't play enough to know about the Oni course back then, and the internet was almost non-existent for me during that time.

...may not have been that off-topic after all. Really, this is one of the biggest realizations I've gone through for a while now. I have actually played Taiko before I was 10? Really? Oh god...

Holy crap. Best story ever.

Stepping Wind wasn't on Shinkyoku Haru Matsuri though. Muzukashii chart here http://www.wikihouse.com/taiko/index.php?%C6%F1%B0%D7%C5%D9%C9%BD%2F%A4%E0%A4%BA%A4%AB%A4%B7%A4%A4%2FSTEPPING%20WIND 424 combo, 1*. (wtf)

1 star? What the fuck? Is this the full version or something? It's got 100 stanzas... (I don't remember when I last played PS2-1... or wherever it appeared, durr)

Well, I couldn't get a picture of the cd now that it completely broke into pieces (for some reason it suddenly broke, and I had to be careful of splinters while getting out :/), but... wow, just wow. To think I was describing badly to my friends back then... how I treated it as a big-rhythm-game wannabe. And here I am, taking it now as one of the things I love the most. Wow. Just, wow.

Ex-colleague Zekira, can you connect to osu a while? Someone searched for you.

P.S.: Nice touching, retrò-story.

Father of rhythm games?I though that was 5-buttons!beatmania?Or if you want to go even earlier,Parappa?
Heh,great story Zekira!Too bad my gaming-experience ain't that long enough...
The first video game I played is probably Pokemon Silver (on the emulator, game boys and carts are hard to come by)

As for Taiko,I started playing from DS1~my cousin introduced me to it
First song I played was Mario, methinks.I can still remember how
I kept trying to get to muzukashii in no avail, and how happy I were
when I finally passed muzukashii!Conan by that time.
