It's not really a hard game if you know what you're doing. And if you had troubles you could grind away all your troubles if you're that kind of player. I beat my first runthrough at around level 70, then for Hard mode (1.2x stats on enemies), I finished it at around level 40.

Though, I really liked the story and the character development overall. It's very shallow at the beginning, but the whole story is pretty much about the three main characters, with a little emphasis on the cardinals as well. The dungeon conversations between the three while doing story missions are really great. I also found the world itself to be very immersive; much more than most other games I've played.

This is starting to sound pretty gay so I'm going to stop now, but I wonder if your opinions will change as you get closer to beating the game.

They quite possibly will, but then again, I've only had about 10 hours with the game at this point.

You were into energy weapons, right? Cause that game has some really fucking sweet ones. And the Gauss Rifle is back and it's fucking powerful. But dude...there's 8 followers and not a single one of them is half as good as Clover was. Cass might be the closest, but she's southern and if you're evil, she leaves you if you keep talking to her. There are only 2 followers I haven't met, but I doubt they'll be as cool as Clover.

Been playing Valkyria Chornicles since I never actually got around to finishing it and playing Killzone 2 multiplayer.
Man...Killzone 2's multiplayer sucks balls at higher levels.

There's only 3 female followers, and one of them is a Super Mutant grandmother. Aside from Cass, there's Veronica, and she's a scribe or something. I haven't met her yet, so I don't know if she's a bitch. If Cass didn't hate that you were mean, I'd really like her. She's a bitch in the best way possible, she loves to drink whiskey, and she always wears a cowboy hat. Then there's a gay scientist, a ghoul I haven't met, an eyebot, an asshole, and Rex, the awesome robo-dog. Rex would be more awesome if he wasn't so frustrating.

Anyway, I was complaining a bunch because they took out the Combat Shotgun in this game, but HO-LY CRAP. I just got the Riot Shotgun and wow. It's a semi-automatic shotgun with 12 rounds per clip and it can fire heeella fast (for a shotgun) and it's got one of the highest DPSs for a shotgun in the game, too. Crazy.

Seibei: Veronica is pretty good as she has an awesome power fist and wields it with over 100 unarmed skill. The only problem is that she wants to take away all your cool toys.

Ok, so I finally met Veronica, and she's definitely the coolest female follower in this game.

Edit: And holy shit, she's a portable workbench!

Just finished getting the last trophy for The Sly Collection and I unlocked the Sly 4 teaser fair and square. Man, those graphics sure have improved. I hope it's a real teaser and not just something they made for giggles. Also, they've started to release the original Prince of Persia trilogy on the PSN with trophies.

I guess this is the best place to ask, but would any of you guys here be interested in no orders no extra battles runthrough of Valkyria Chronicles? I was kinda thinking of doing it as I kinda want to replay the game without being cheap and it would be nice to share it with people.

Fiiiinally started playing Vanquish today. Pretty fun, but not as great as a lot of people are saying it is. Not as bad as a lot of people are saying it is either. People say it's short because it's 5 hours or whatever, but jeez, this game is literally NONSTOP ACTION. That sounds like a good thing, but sometimes you need a break and this game doesn't give it to you. I do like upgrading weapons though. It feels like a puzzle game trying to run around and group all of the weapons together to get them upgraded before moving on to the next room.

Why not just make a thread instead of whining in this one, rust?

I mean, one of the reasons people watch LPs is because they can't play the game themselves. Like maybe because they don't have that particular system. While pretty much everyone in here that frequents this thread has a ps3. Since it's, you know, the ps3 thread.

You do have a good point, considering I am going through the story in the LP as well. And I wasn't really whining I was just joking how I went along with it even though no one seem interested. I'll think about making a topic.

I used a Flip camcorder standing upon a bunch of PS2 and PS3 games. It's pretty High-def, considering the file sizes for the videos are about 1 gig. The downsides with this method is that I'm limited to an hour of recording before having to upload and it has horrible auto-focus (As you can easily tell in the opening).

Yeah, I couldn't tell if you were using a camera or a screen capture with a big, black border or something. Your room must've been super dark or something, cause that's such a perfect outline, except that it's crooked a little bit.

So, Selphie, I started playing Dark Dawn. Game feels like golden sun, that's a huge plus!

I've come to realize I love the combat in gs games much, much more than anything else. I always manage to put the game down whenever I enter a new town or non-combat area.

Also this water adept is a douchebag, hopefully the second one is better.

Yeah dude, the more I think about Golden Sun combat, the more I like it than any other RPG I've played. And you pick up the second water adept really early on. He's the next guy after Rief. He's ok, but pretty bland. Like, he has no personality. Also, he's 6 levels lower than my other guys, so I have no idea if he's any good.

I dunno, I've never used him in battle yet. He's literally like two dungeons behind my characters at all times. He'd probably get killed too fast. Every single one of his stats is lower than Rief's and Rief has better Psynergy. So he's pretty useless, BUT...I just got the second Wind Adept and she's even better than Karis. The second wind chick actually has some fucking HP and strength and stuff. Her Psynergy isn't really as good though, but that's what Rief is for. Once you have Wish/Wish Well, you don't really need Karis.

Dude, I like Karis, too, but the second wind adept is cooler in every way. The stupid thing is that you only get her for half a dungeon, then she leaves and you don't get her back until I don't even know when. Now I can't wait to replace Tyrell though. He sucks so much.

So what's your party now, Ival? I've been using Matthew (every time I refer to this guy, I type Isa, then backspace), Sveta, Eoleo, and Rief. And now here's why I use Rief still: Pure Wish. I don't care how much he sucks as a character, you can't beat 400hp for the party for 20pp. Ridiculous.

There, finally got rid of Rief.

I'm kind of pissed that Amiti can't use long swords or axes or maces, he is a terrible Piers.

Just looked at the characters on the wiki because I'm a huge baby. I'll probably end up using Matthew, Karis, the other venus adept, and either Tyrell or Amiti. I actually liked Tyrell a lot more once I gave him that longsword from the barai temple or whatever. He looks like a badass with a shamshir.

You're not gonna use Sveta? Himi over Sveta? Himi's the worrrst. Dude, Sveta can transform into this beast mode during battle. By the time I finally realized you could do that, she was doing either 300+ damage to every enemy or 600+ to a single enemy every turn. And if you defend in beast form, she defends everyone. The only downside to it is you can't use Djinn, and I think once you go out of beast form, most of your Djinn are resting. Ithink. I haven't used it enough to know if that's what happened. Like, I literally didn't find that out until the second-to-last boss.

I finally did it. I've finally won Dark Dawn. By that I mean I have all level 99 characters, beat every optional and mandatory boss, opened every chest, got all the summons, and got all the Djinn. It's kinda lame that the minute you get the last summon, that's the minute it becomes useless.

Just finally met (and said goodbye to, zzz) Sveta. She's pretty alright, but I'm pretty sure she's just going to be the fifth man in a four man team.

Tyrell is such a badass with a longsword though, jesus christ. And so is Matthew. I don't think I can ever replace them because they look so stylish all the time.

I'd have Tyrell in my team if he wasn't such a doucher character. He's supposed to be a comic relief, but Eoleo's funnier. Tyrell can hold a really strong sword though. Some enemy drops it, but I forgot which one. I don't even remember where I got it, but it's a Fire Brand. I don't think I ever got a better sword for him than that. Also, Rief totally reminds me of Hope. Hope was a flaming faggot, but he was such a good healer that I didn't care.

I got Final Fantasy XIII the other day but names/characters like that are one of the reasons I haven't booted it up yet. Everyone has a stupid-sounding name. Hope, Snow, Lightning, Buttercup, Mayonnaise. The cast of characters looks kind of nauseating, minus Seifer and Ival

I picked that game up again recently, but once I realized that the only thing standing between me and a platinum is about 20 hours of grinding, I frowned and put it back in the closet.

Back to golden sun, I just got Eoleo and he seems like an equal level faggot to Tyrell, except he can't use longswords (the best looking weapon in the game). So he is perma-backlined. Honestly the more I think about it, the more it seems like I'll just end up using all the bitches and Matthew.

Also I hate how whenever I have enough djinn to sport the 8 djinn classes, some faggot enters my group and I'm back down to 7 on everyone again

olawd I wasn't able to find any Longswords that were better than my light swords. I ended up dropping Tyrell and Himi overall, while switching between Rief and Karis. That said, I just beat the game, although I wish it was longer.
Ah well, time to 100%.

Oh my God, right? I thought something was wrong when I first saw that. I thought maybe her agility was too low or something or maybe she got debuffed, but no, she's just that slow. Besides, little girls shouldn't be fighting monsters in the first place.

Oh, and Eoleo was fucking useful because he had defense buff/debuff spells. That was pretty helpful against bosses that like to drain your Djinn like an asshole. Also, it let me keep my defense Djinn on standby instead of wasting a turn on setting.

I can only hope she unleashes so I can speed that shit up.

It is really funny watching Himi use Combat Dance, because she swings so slowly the animation takes like 10 seconds compared to Karis' taking like 2 seconds.

Also awp, snow is a fucking douchebag don't pair me up with that faggot. I need my bitches. Bitches should be bitchy, that's why they're bitches. You can substitute Vanille with Fang, I won't mind. You can only edit the party like...20 hours in, though. And I don't remember if you can use less than three people. Selphie would probably know.

Just remember that Hope is a complete douchenozzle and you don't want him in your party any more than required.

And use Sazh just because his blitz owns. And because I own. It is required that you make me a sentinel as soon as possible and grab provoke/steelguard because I have the best provoke animation in the game.

Even in post-game content, there is no real reason to use Hope. He just isn't necessary since you don't really ever need to be healed (that is, if you don't suck).

Well he's not just a healer, he's got all the best attack spells. There's nothing Vanille does that makes her a requirement for the party. I'd rather have someone who heals too well than someone who debuffs too well.

Sazh is this game's Balthier: the gun-wielding badass who makes the game justifiable just due to his existence.

Also, Vanille is better than Fang at debuffs. Much better. I'm pretty sure that unless I absolutely had to in post-game content, I never let Sazh or Vanille leave my party.

By the way, Snow is a faggot and Hope is a bigger faggot, approaching Ken (P3) levels.

Well duh Vanille is better than Fang at debuffs, but Fang's retardedly strong AND has a decent arsenal of debuffs. If she didn't have the crucial debuffs that she has, I probably would have to bring in Vanille.

And dude, don't forget about Fran. She was the other awesome character in that game.

Guys, it's not a decision between Fang and Vanille, it's a decision between Vanille and Hope. Because Hope is a fucking douchefaggot, so the choice should be pretty obvious.

Also Vanille has red hair.

After finishing Resonance of Fate, my view on the story has changed; it did progress rather nicely and the combat never did get challenging if you actually took the time to, I dunno, read the tutorial? It's worth a purchase.

Just finished getting 100% in Enslaved and the DLC for it. Pretty cool game. Not a lot of complaints about it at all. Gonna start Resonance of Fate tomorrow.

Has anybody else played Enslaved? I'm doing a run through it on rental and enjoying it so far. It's a little repetitive, but I like the conversations and interactions between the two leads, and the world the developers created is brilliant. It's post-apocalyptic without ripping off Mad Max.

Game looks awesome provided that they have the japanese voice option. NIS & Gust games are the shit.

I thought it looked okay at best, but the battle system seems kinda simple. Customization is key, though, because this is a Gust game. I can count on it probably being at least passable. Still gonna wait for individual consensuses before playing.

Edit: Oh yeah, I finished the maingame of Golden Sun. Wow, final boss felt like what a normal boss should have. I went in there with my normal crew of Karis/Himi/Sveta/Matthew as Guru/Master/Gladiator/Ronin (something along those lines, at least), and shit went downhill pretty fast since I had 0 party healing and only one reviver, and djinn blast was just not fun times. So I switched the earth adepts to paladins and switched Karis back to her main class and cruised through pretty easy. I wish the other bosses in the game required actual thought.

Actually, I think the only boss in the game where I felt in danger of losing was the first group of soldiers with psy grenades, those guys almost ruined me.

I'll probably finish off crossbone isle then be done with it. Still missing 3 djinn and a few summon tablets but I don't even care.

I don't even think djinn blast is bad. Every boss in the game should be using that, at least.

I'm a little disgusted that I could ease through the entire game without planning much of anything. I mean, my final boss strategy was "use pure wish".

Playing other mmos right now, but I have an eight hour car drive back to alabama on sunday, so I'll tackle Dullahan then.

Had a nice 30-40 min boss fight with Dullahan, it was fairly fun. Djinni Blast everywhere, also fuck Charon and it's random soul draining.

That ice queen bitch had me going when I faced her. She was the first "hard" boss fight in the game only because she fucking one-hit killed Tyrell on her very first kiss thing. Total bitch. I was disappointed with the last boss' song. That doesn't even belong in the same universe as the Doom Dragon theme.

Anyway, I cannot get Vash to stop leveling up like a beast in Resonance. He is 8/10 levels higher than Zephyr/Leanne. And the worst part about it is that he's my least favorite character.

Vashyron owns, he's awesome. I can't say he's better than the others because I have equal love for all of them.

Easy way to level is to switch weapons around. Beware, it'll just make the rest of the game easier, it's not balanced for level-grinding.

Oh, also, you can switch character positions in the menu. Make him third to go, and put your machine gunner in top position. If Vashyron is your machine gunner, then that is pretty much why he is leveling like a beast. Generally two people will be high level; the scratcher and the main source of direct damage. Third person usually ends up just doing utility/knockbacks and set up for tri-attacks.

Man, I've been playing for 35 hours or something now. I totally know all of that stuff. The reason Vash is such a high level is cause he is my MG user, but I don't have a second high level cause I try to keep Zephyr and Leanne equal. So for every level they both get, Vash gets twice as much experience. Then when his HG gets too high, I switch him to rookie grenades and those levels just skyrocket, so now he's just ridiculously leveled.

Well, okay! It sounded there was some confusion as to why so I felt compelled to explain needlessly!

I always had Leanne as my highest level because she was my machine gunner and grenadier. Her dual sub machine gun skill activation animation when running past an enemy is the greatest. She like does a flip in the air while shooting, lands on her knees and turns around, all while still shooting. It looks like that one move from Bayonetta, except more badass somehow.
