I assume you mean for the FTP upload, since this IS web based.

You could try a web based FTP upload solution such as http://www.surftp.com/ but they require java/flash uploading and are not very reliable.

It is better just to download FileZilla and use that. If installing it is an issue you can get it in a zip folder that does not require you to install anything, you just run the program from the extracted folder.

Either was I still need to assign you an account to use it.

EDIT: Admin account credentials have been sent to aquabluu, arien666, lepidopodus and Zekira. Let me know if you have issues connecting guys, since FileZilla didn't seem to want to let me connect under your accounts. Might be something to do with data stored on my machine or a lag time setting up the account.

----

All right guys, new plan.

I figured since I was going to offer file mirrors anyway, instead of a full blown website it is probably easier to just upload maps in their raw forms to an online storage space via FTP, and browse through the directories using your web browser to find the files.

It's also easier for me in terms of allocating user accounts, since I can lock your account to your custom user maps folder. Of course I will be designating some admin privileges for the whole site, for those users who I know I can trust.

-----

admin accounts will be given initially to aquabluu, lepidopodus, arien666 and Zekira. They will have full control over all the folders:

taiko
>Authentic Maps
>Custom

Other users will get an FTP account that is locked to their folder, for example:

>Custom>Rokodo>

-----

If anyone abuses their account (uploading non-related material or attempting to hack the site) will have their account stripped. No exceptions.

You may upload things such as a text file if you want to include mirror links or links to BSS maps:

links.txt
Artist - Song.osz download mirror - http://mediafire.com/etc

You may also use a text file if you want to keep a record of upload dates:

new.txt
Artist - Song.osz | Uploaded on dd/mm/yyyy

-----

This is overall a much simpler solution, all you require is an FTP client. I highly recommend FileZilla, a free and open source project. It also allows users a bit of freedom in terms of where they store their files and how many copies of it are available to download from different locations.

Please Note: Aside from the admin accounts that I will be designating ASAP for the purpose of file shifting, individual accounts will be given out on a per-need basis. If you need your account for custom maps, PM me.
I'm on top of the list, yeah boy.

I.....I don't get it......

Some say that it switches the scoring system to one similar to IIDX's,
but derp IDK.

IGNORE THAT! I GET IT NOW!

It goes like this.Once this mode's on,
your combo number will no longer
affect your scoring.
That means no multipliers due to combos, and you
won't suffer from dropped scores due to breaking
your combo.
In general, you score more with this mode on.
I heard that scores under this mode won't
show up in the cabinet's ranking system,
but it will on the taiko dojo.

That explains all those KiSai pics 765 loves to post
and that pic arien posted earlier.

EDIT: taiko admin accounts sent out. I'll also be sending out a couple of taiko user accounts for the users who are currently active in this thread, so keep an eye on your inbox.

I've fixed the site permissions for the website and the usergroups for editing map pages.

Administration of beatmap pages will be done via a site front end, since I don't want to give anyone access to the overly complicated back end.

taiko admin group will be able to edit ALL beatmap pages (including user custom map pages) and will be as follows:

aquabluu
arien666
lepidopodus
Zekira

taiko user group will be able to edit their OWN beatmap page (only their custom map page).
Custom Map user accounts will be set up at request; PM me to assign you an account and a password.

A guide to edit your map page (or pages if you are assigned as a taiko admin) will be sent out in the form of a PM.

@aquabluu: I'm thinking you can link the genre images to their respective beatmap pages and users to the userpages. This will allow us to keep the forum thread as a linking system for older members who come back here. (User's Custom Map pages may change link from time to time due to administration however.)
@everyone: Please notify any users from this point who want to submit new maps to this project of the website and tell them to PM me for an account on the site.

Exactly.
That means accuracy's more significant
than usual…just like IIDX I guess.
(beatmania features a batshit number
of notes so I kinda understand why combo
won't affect scoring there. But IDK with taiko)

In b4 all those extra stage things,or even
challenge mode similar to Pop'n music.
Or maybe them E-amusement system.

lepi has been reporting bugs with the taiko website. I've been noticing the issue too.

If a link randomly disappears after you edit a page, don't worry about it, it is a bug with the CMS' or some feature I have yet to understand/work around.

I can get to my map page if I go to http://taiko.astoni.sh/node/34

However, it does show up in this list here http://taiko.astoni.sh/node/25

Ok, find another guy, dude. xD

@aqua: Namco has already released the method to unlock the Shinta Mode! It will be awaiable after October 1st, by the way.
(help on translation will be useful, guys ^^")

10月1日に発表する、真打モードの解禁コマンドを入力後、
タイトル画面にて「コインを1枚以上入れた状態」で
「1P、2Pどちらかの太鼓の右フチを連続10回叩く」
ことで「真打モード」を使用することができます。

To release on October 1, after entering The Shinta mode of lifting,
At the title screen, "one or more coins into the state" in
"1P, 2P 10th consecutive hit the right edge of the drum either."
That "Shinta mode" can be used.

Another thingy fact is that the highscores made with the Shinta mode won't be registered in the Taiko arcade machine, but they are still awaiable for score submitting to the Taiko Dojo.

Plus, don't forget to check my last rough copies of articles! I still have to find a video about an old song for the Variety Dancers issue.

Nah it's fine, I'm in the process of linking all my maps on my own user page of the site.
I've revised the site's colour scheme/design, it looks a lot cleaner and how shall I say it... web 2.0 now.
I've also locked off the useless home page and made the map page the first thing you see when browsing to the domain.

@aquabluu: Also I don't know if you noticed but the start of Taiko Time glitches if you restart once. The only way to 'restart' so to speak is to restart the whole of osu! Maybe you can try moving your offset back another beat? I think that might help. Don't know how to fix this exactly, maybe make a new mp3 with some more lead in time? orz

Ok, here's the craziest, fan-made 2000 song ever made. Enjoy!

Plus aqua, I think that maybe the last news article of Taiko Time I've posted can catch your interest... xD

Edit: can someone help me finding an mp3 of Make Inu Henjou? It's kinda hard to find it...

Yeah I saw the article :P You forgot to label the post though. I'll do it.

As for Make Inu Henjou, you'll have to wait a few days.

Taiko Drum Master has apparently become an annual thing on Wii. So too has a new entry in the series leaking out through a retailer.

HMV Online is the offender this year. The site posted a listing for Taiko no Tatsujin Wii Minna de Party 3-dai-me. If I were the guy who had to translate these games into English, I'd probably write this as "Taiko Drum Master Wii Everyone's Party 3rd" ... or something to that effect.

The HMV listing has the game marked for December 2 release at ¥5,040. That's presumably for the software-only version. Namco Bandai usually releases a taiko drum bundle priced a couple thousand yen more.
Yesss. Think I'm gonna be there day one this time!

TAIKO WII 3@@@@@@@@@@@~! Me wantz.

There better be way more Ura maps this time, some challenging bosses, and no rpg mode plz. >.>

(AND I voted yes for that.)
Zekira
and no rpg mode plz.
What, no u!

Well I'm fine with anything as long as it has a storyline!

*still hoping for a crossover of every world, because a Don-Dokon-Arumi-Ponko quadgroup would be sooooooooooooo :3*
Propeller_Cap
Well, the rpg in DS3 could have been a lot more diverse, and many things could be added. Like poison notes, healing items, invisibility cloaks... the list goes on. It was also really annoying traveling across the mainland looking for secret items with monsters popping up every half second. A lot of things didn't make sense in the rpg either (how did Ponko's father end up being the bad guy?), but that's Namco for you.

I guess it's mainly an issue of lacks, as so many other things could be added. But I guess rhythm games and rpg's don't mix in all that well, for me anyways.

The boss fights were fun though.

(how did Ponko's father end up being the bad guy?)
I'm pretty sure that was explained somewhere in the game, don't remember where since I can't really translate more than 40% of the thing lol...

I don't know how either actually :/ Maybe he was just pretending to be bad or something, I suppose
Zekira
Aside from unlocking Ponko's potential, I don't see the sense in doing all that, scattering youkai all over the place...
