Yes, I plan on primarily using monks for healing. Abusing both passives while having speed cast for awakening + holy guard is just too beneficial for PVP for me to pass up. If it becomes a problem in PVE, I'll level a shaman in its place later. I've decided against having any sort of ranged classes for several reasons, mostly PVP related. Axe main for guard dispel and, to a lesser degree, freezing axe incase I need it. This way, I won't ever have a need for a shitty Viking in my line up to die in 2 turns. May switch in a second Monk for my 100+ builds, as well. I'll have to wait until later to find out if my 100+ builds are too weak offensively, but I fear it may be. But hey, playing defensively is just my thing~
EDIT 9/29/08: Updated my build choices, along with a timeline of my merc switches. Remaining faithful to my melee+staff only build. Currently level 45, working on getting my Beast. 6-0 in Free League, as well. NOTE: My viking is mainly just a filler class everytime I hit a new milestone for how many mercs I can have; he will leave when I get my Witch & Beast. Although I do have an alternate 100+ build in mind that includes the Viking.

They're making everyone redownload the client rather than patching it in, and the OB client isn't up yet. They will probably mirror it on 5-6 sites like the did before, so you should get your full download rate from somewhere, but it will probably be overrun by new users and CB users, so I can't say that with complete certainty.

Actually, that client you have is no good now, James. They just decided to announce yesterday that you will need to download a completely new client for OB, which hasn't been posted yet. They will not be patching the CB client, which is what I gave you. D:
And if you want to talk pvp builds, I can suggest some if you like. Otherwise, just scan through the shit that gets posted on the official boards. In general, though; a Monk is a must. The other 8 are up to you for the most part.

You have up to 9 (including yourself) mercenaries you control, so it doesn't really matter what you choose. As far as what to choose for a main, though... stick to something that you plan to use in your strategy permanently, as you can't switch your main out. ;x
Popular choices for mains right now are Sword, Axe and Gun. Best Korean player atm plays a Staff, in case you care. The game comes down to skill much more-so than class choice, which is refreshing.
Oh, and I'll be running with an Axe.

2 of the same level item and an enchant stone. Spirit Armor + Spirit Armor + Armor Enchant Stone = Spirit Armor +1 (or +2/+3 in very rare instances)
The amount of stones required goes up with each level of equipment, though. Combining +1's requires 2 stones, combining +2's requires 3 stones, etc.

Asura equips come from the boss Asura in the Angkor Wat dungeon place thingy. Or you could just buy Asura boxes on the market, though they are probably overpriced like hell right now.

okay so i tried "enchanting" in rome. same banana. you get +1 upgrade using enhanced stones. but without sacrificial item. +5 bow turned to +6. it should be doubled

I have a question before i play, what is this stamina system? I've read in the forum that some people quit because it ruined the game? Atlantica looks fun to play btw.

The stamina system is really a non-factor, and something they use to encourage partying. Basically, you have 100 stamina, and once you use all of you, your experience/item rates are dropped dramatically. This resets once per day at 6:00am server time.
You lose 1 stamina per battle you enter. If you're in a party of two, you regain 1 stamina every two battles. If in a party of 3, you regain 2 stamina every 3 battles. You can also recover 3 stamina for every win in the Free League (organized PVP).
Unless you play extremely hardcore, or farm for 5-6 hours straight, you will not run out of stamina. Even while solo. A group of 3 makes it a near impossible task. I've played 4 different mains to level 40+, and have yet to run out of stamina while doing so solo.

Basically it encourages you to do things that make leveling twice as easy, like partying.

Back in CB1/2 no stamina meant no more EXP. So everyone would make parties to leech off the other guys stamina.

They're quested, just like the Viking and Monk. Beast Trainer quest line starts at 44, Witch at 51, Exorcist at 57, etc etc.James wrote:

Ahahaha, they were doing battles with GM's after the maintenance tonight, and I managed to grab the first match with them. Steamrolled his ass 9-0.

Level 50. There's a level 30 GM that does 0-50 and plays 7 Merc, and there's a level 50 GM that does 50-100 9 merc. ;x

2. crappy ram (half of what i usually have) porting to a town loads ages. im getting pissed like that.
