This has been bothering me for some time now. How do you add a skin to a beatmap and that beatmap only? Since Im creating a beatmap and a unique skin will add the effect
Just put the skin elements into your beatmap folder and it will load automatically when You play it. Except the skin.ini won't work iircShadowIWS wrote:

Change you skin version to "Version: 2" or higher (or add it to your skin). The numbers should no longer appear when a hitburst pops up.

If you want to change the color of hitcircle.png, you don't want to do that in photoshop.Yuki Desu wrote:
Does anyone know the best way to accurately preview the note color? Coz in the game, a color I picked is brighter or darker. I understand, it depends on background and opacity, but that's why I struggle with that. The question is "what the best way?" but that's what I tried.
I used "overlay color"(orwhateveritcalled) on hitcirle.png layer in photoshop and it was quite accurate, but still... maybe I need to use different "overlay mode" or it's not even smartest way to do what I want? :C

Becaue the colour of the hitcircle. png changes (or at least can change) with every new combo, you change the colour in the skin.ini, with rgb code.
i think that this is what youre looking for http://www.colorpicker.com ??Yuki Desu wrote:

Note: I actually already did my colors as I wanted them to be. By method "try this one and see what happened" which gave me cancer. And I think it's awkward way to do that.
For example you can create a text file and rename it to "skin.ini" - done.KiruShinigami wrote:

or if u rly wanna preview the note use photoshop.
with ps u could change saturation/hue of note till ur liking and then pick that color.
So, I have to do the same size of circles and approachcircle as in template?Haskorion wrote:
The actual size of the circle is 236x236.
The dimension size of 256x256 is because of the approachcircle which is 252x252 with 2 pixel extra on each side to not touch the borders of the canvas (which can result in an ugly looking imperfect circle sometimes).
Thank you! A long time was interested this issue.Haskorion wrote:
Yes, anything larger or smaller obscures the actual hitbox of 236x236 (meaning taking away information; smaller gives a sense of false information in clicking on transparent area where the hitbox actually is; larger gives a sense of missing even when there is the circle).
Im happy that you could solve it.Yuki Desu wrote:

Well, I kinda recreate a play field in photoshop. Black background, hicircle and overlaycircle layers, then I used "overlay color" with 'multiplication" mode on hitcirle.png layer(since this the one which is changing) and there I picked the color. I didn't !apply overlay mode on hitcircle.png, I just preview it and picked the color then write it in skin.ini. That result was close enough. So it kinda neat to preview how it gonna look in game without testing it in the actual game.-TheHateD- wrote:

Btw, would you share what youve done?

I can't help if you're using GIMP (not like I haven't used it before, but that was a long time ago and frankly the interface's too clunky for me)
But if you're using photoshop,it's possible to create custom gradients in the gradient editor, that makes it possible to make multiple stops in the gradient.
Alternatively, you can create the lighter parts manually using the foreground to transparent gradient and choosing your own colours.
It's more time-consuming,but you can sort of fine-tune where you want your colours to go.

I don't really understand this part^ The images for the metre have already been resized to 1024x692.SUPER_Samurai_ wrote:

Edit : I've tried to add in the spinner metre in, and the image gets distorted when i use the spinner. Tried to add a border for the metre as well, don't align at all.
SUPER_Samurai_ wrote:
Well, we're making progress here lol. What kind of "distortion" is happening? Could you send a screenshot of how it looks? Remember that the metre has its anchor point at the top left and will not automatically align to the center. I'll be waiting ^^
Well, for problem #1, it seems like the metre only loads halfway? Or is it supposed to cut off at the skirt?Boomdopew wrote:

Oh yea, and I gotta ask. If you get an idea from someone's element(e.g spinner circle) and make your own(similar) element using that idea, do you need to ask permission from the person for you to use it?

Also, I recommend your character to stretch out from the top to the bottom so there's no empty space there (except if it is supposed to cut off there)
#2, no, only if you use their exact same images, you need to give credit, since you're using someone else's work. You still could anyway, that would be nice I guess xD

Yes. If you use someone else's sounds from their skin, you need permission. If you use game sounds, I don't think permission is needed, just credit.Boomdopew wrote:
Edit : What about hitsounds, drum sound... game sounds etc? I assume I will need to get permission from the owners too right?

Yellow is for keyboard input and Pink is for mouse input. I don't think you can change those colors.
apparently, the only way to fix that is going back to Version: 1 and edit ranking-perfect.png in a photo editortsubasa128 wrote:

But when I change to version 2, my ranking-perfect is inside the ranking graph but my ranking panel doesn't completely cover the whole screen and leaves space up top.
My ranking panel is 1366x768.
Version:1 looks like this
Version:2 looks like this
Is there way to fix this?
Thanks!
The Max Combo, and Accuracy isn't the problem, I can fix that in photoshop pretty easily, it's just the top of whole ranking panel has a gap. Is that what you mean by the anchoring? And this can't be changed? Because no matter how large I make the picture there's always that gap on top.OsuMe65 wrote:

If you like Version: 2 because of thumbnails, i think you have to retain it that way and edit ranking-panel.png in a poto editor to move "Max Combo" and "Accuracy" on top of those numbers. Don't be surprised about the anchoring of that ranking panel because it is fixed.
