Less than 10 days until some Alpha Protocol goodness. And Lost Planet 2 is pretty cool, but I thought I'd have at least 3 friends getting this game, but so far none of them have been able to get it, so I haven't had any consistent partners.

Yeah, I hecka liked Sayonara Rolling Star, but then I listened to the original and that one was a bit better. I didn't like the remixes they did to my previous favorite song, Everlasting Love.

So Alpha Protocol was pretty much disappointing. It's ok. Not a lot of new stuff going on with PS3 right now.
I actually finally finished Arkham Asylum.

Arkham was? Really? I thought it was pretty good, except for the "bosses." They sucked.
Fighting isn't actually very fun for me since you can pretty much get by with mashing square a whole lot while jumping over heads and occasionally hitting triangle and then doing a combo takedown whenever you can.
The titan bosses are just shit and they keep bloody appearing.
The Joker was a disappointing end fight.
Ivy's titan plants are just randomly strewn about the place when they appear and while kind of fun to avoid, are just boring to fight.
Ivy's fight just felt badly designed when they add in goons that are pretty much only there to get in your way.
Ivy's ass takes twice as long to load as the rest of her making the loading sequences take longer than they really should every time you die.
Actually most boss fights were pretty shit except for Harley and Killer Croc.
The Riddler's things were fun but some were just too easy.
Knife enemies are just there to make you hit circle occasionally.
The parts with Scarecrow were pretty unwowing especially after everyone hyped them up so much and his battles were the same thing every time. The only good Scarecrow sequence is the part in the hallway.
It would have been nice to have some enemy variation that was something other than "goon with x". The only thing that comes to mind are the insane inmates.
One of the game over voice clips sounds lower quality than the others which just serves to tick me off even more every time I die.
On the plus side, stealth parts are great.

Yeah, he was pretty hyped. I didn't get a chance to read most of the hype since I got the game on day 0 and could get to the part before people blew it out of proportion. It was cool, but not game-changing, groundbreaking cool.
Finally decided to connect my Pee Es Tree to the internets. Sadly, I still don't have a single online game(Don't ask me why I don't even have LBP yet, I'm saddened by it).

You guys HAVE to try DeathSpank! This is probably the funniest game I have ever played. Also, it's pretty addicting.

Naw, dude, you can't judge this game by looking at it. When I looked at the trailers and stuff for this game, I was like, whatever. Wasn't interested. But when you play the demo and see how fucking hilarious and awesome the game is, it's like, ooooh yeaaaah. The gameplay is pretty fun though. Like, you don't even have to be a fan of that kind of Diablo stuff cause I've never played a game like that before. All I can say is that this $15 game is four times better than most $60 games I've gotten recently.

I first played Conker's BFD when I was 13 or so. I didn't get over half the jokes. Hell, I seem to find something new every time I play through the game. And I've played it start to finish over thirty times.

Most people seem to say Trinity Universe is pretty much Cross Edge without being ridiculously ridiculous (supposedly there were a lot of completely unintuitive true ending requirements, like exiting a dungeon you just entered to trigger an event that would be unavailable after finishing said dungeon) and overall just better.

So I've been playing Assassin's Creed II lately. I really underestimated how fun this game could be. I got Dead Space, too, so that's next on the list.
I tried playing Dead Space but didn't find it very fun =| it's like a slower-paced Doom 3
How far did you get into it? I'm in chapter nine I really like it. If you're still in chapter one you should try a little bit more, as it does pick up the pace.

I had two people tell me that it was really, really, really good, and it was only $20, so I got it. But I'm really easy to scare, so I don't know if I could even do that whole game without having some sort of heart attack.

Well that's just you, and if you did find that cliché, then yeah, you probably won't like the rest of the game.
Before my brother sold the PS3, I played through Dead Space. Honestly, shit was not scary, granted they use the same cheap gimmick to scare you over and over again to the point where it ruins any potential atmosphere the game may have. Seeing a corpse get up once was scary, seeing a corpse get up more than once is laughable. Like I said, though, any potential atmosphere is ruined, and that's what horror games live off of: their atmosphere.

In that respect, I'm not sure if you'd like Silent Hill 2 or not. It has some of that "I can hear the enemy but can't see it" - in fact, you can pretty much always hear enemies well before seeing them - but SH2's horror is definitely locked in its atmosphere. It's not actually creepy until you think about what's going on.
Silent Hill still has some nightmarish imagery.
From the first encounter of Pyramid Head in 2, raping that other demonic thing to the mirror scene in 3, where multiple looks change the amount of blood and decay in the room. First time looking, there's nothing wrong. Look in the corner, there's a bunch of blood. Look back at the other, more blood and decay. Look in the mirror again, your reflection's skin falls off.
If you can't handle Dead Space then I doubt that you'll be able to handle Silent Hill once it gets inside your head. Hell, I still get nightmares at 3's mirror scene/mannequin scene.

So 3's actually good, huh? I was a couple hours into it, after the first "chapter" so to speak, don't remember where I went from there but I'll probably pick it back up in due time.
3 is right behind 2 in terms of the best in the series. It's definitely tied for my favourite with 2, though, so I'm a little biased.

Lucius and Etna are so fucking awesome in Trinity Universe. Lucius gets a passive ability that gives him a chance of inflicting random status ailments on enemies during night, which means you just throw out some magic and suddenly the entire enemy party is paralyzed/poisoned/blinded and possibly slept.
Etna just hits fucking hard. Other characters in my party are hitting for 3000-4500 while she's hitting 7200.

I compare every Sonic game I play to Sonic Adventure 2. I figure if they could do it back then, why can't they do it now?

Played the Scott Pilgrim demo. Fun game, very RCR-esque. I'd like to see more level design than "go right, beat guys up" but demos usually only give you the absolute basics. Still, I enjoyed what was there.

Hey awp, if you liked Scott Pilgrim, try the Shank demo. It's way more kickass. The soundtrack isn't as good, but the combat's more fun and interesting. I've played it 4 times already. That guy is pretty brutal.

Oh shit, guys! Check out Costume Quest. It's an adventure game/turn-based RPG with a battle system similar to the Mario & Luigi series. It's a Tim Schafer game, too, more or less. It's Halloween themed, so when you enter a battle, you turn into a giant version of whatever costume you're wearing and it looks pretty cool for a PSN game.
Watched the trailer for that a while back on Giantbomb. Looks like fun.

Sonic Adventure's coming out on PSN either today or tomorrow. It's got trophies, too, but good luck getting 130 emblems. I guess it's easier than getting all the emblems on SA2 though.

So you can shoot with your detatched limb, but you just can't aim it. And you can throw your limbs to distract animals so you can kill them and stuff. Pretty hilarious concept, but the controls look like they might suck. Oh, and you're stuck with this mortal chick who makes you lose if she dies. There's co-op, but player 2 has to play as the killable chick.

The Last Guardian's supposed to come out Holiday 2011 and there's a new trailer. Ico/Shadow Collection is supposed to be in Spring 2011.

In the third-person shooter, NeverDead, you play as this immortal guy who can rip his limbs off at will and use them while they're detatched and shit. So you can shoot with your detatched limb, but you just can't aim it. And you can throw your limbs to distract animals so you can kill them and stuff.
