I MIGHT be able to do Hataraku but my BRAND NEW DSi XL SCREEN is too precious to go the way of my poor little DS Lite.
Zekira himself mentioned grinding Hataraku buggers up the screen.

No not really; my touch screen is already messed up before I played DS3. Actually I only experience touch screen suckiness on the slow songs (when I press only lightly on the screen), but when I do intense songs (thus press it with qutie some amount of force), response is just great.

Hataraku isn't much mashing when you get the beat, anyway... except for the last part where the number of 1/8s becomes insanely high.

I swear it's all a secret plot between 765 and Nintendo.They intend to have us break our DS
playing Hataraku,and end up having to buy new NDS consoles.(thus racking up the sales
of NDS consoles)

This taiko thread is really huge.

I propose we start 2 different new threads. One for the maps themselves as well as other useful game information such as combination unlock codes and another for discussion*.

OR we could seek a different solution to displaying the map links in such a way as users can be set and are permitted to edit the authentic map section as well as their own for the purpose of updating and adding links easily. The only problem is finding something reliable and free. I could pay for hosting and set something up with a CMS but to be honest it would be better to just rely on a large company that offers a free service.
If we could do something like that I would be fine with converting all the BBCode links to another format.

Here is the basic plan of my idea with > representing a subdirectory.

User - Rokodo has access to Taiko Maps > Authentic > ALL + Taiko Maps > Custom > Rokodo
User - Zekira has access to Taiko Maps > Authentic > ALL + Taiko Maps > Custom > Zekira
...and so on and so on. Each main section would be displayed as one article on a page or possibly via a directory tree seeing as we would be moving to our own hosting solution anyway.

Maybe something like this:

Security is actually my main concern regarding the handling of a database for the maps. If you can pull this off, then I have no objections.

Can you use the fonts we use for the title bars in our beatmaps? It'll look a whole lot better. And is having Don-chan in the banner considered copyright infringement? I was thinking of having him.

BTW, here's the sample page I created. For starters, I want the entire songs database to be in this blog, and I finished the one for DS3. halp.

The link on DS3 is clickable, which will take you to its song list and a brief description. It still needs fine tuning (I haven't put in any in-game screenshots, or named the unlockable songs or anything like that). Any ideas?

EDIT: The page links, like 'Home', 'Introduction' etc also need custom buttons of their own too. Those page names are temporary atm, so don't worry about that too much yet.

EDIT2: Okay, now I really want this to go along as quickly as possible...I need to know what we can and can't include in the fansite. Currently the list of things I planned for Taiko Time (and really need everyone's help with) are these:

-Song lists (arranged by genre/game)
-Lyrics (if available)
-Song unlock codes for both arcade and console
-Profile of all characters in the series (and this means finding official art)
-News (new songs, new games, etc. just like any other fansite)
-Simple guides for all console games

Other minor things include:

-Song 'series' (like all the 2000 songs, in one blog post, and include information for each one)

'Ere. This is what I've done so far. Click the link for Taiko DS3 at the bottom to see more. I don't really think the BPM and artist are that important (unless maybe we could add them for J-Pop and Anime songs). I didn't put in the note count either, since none of the songs have an individual profile yet. I could do that, if you want.

I can help, but I think it would be better if like we're assigned to which things we're supposed to be accomplishing. E.G. I'd probably have 0 knowledge on filling in the arcade lists. Also it's to save time just in case someone already made a page for this certain article, only to find out it's actually completed already.

I can probably come up with some of the characters, but it'll involve a lot of Photoshop work. A lot.

About assigning work, I'll do that once I've gathered a few of us willing to write for the blog. I have the DS3 and DS2 song lists covered.(and if you need the arcade song lists I can always link you to the page on the Taiko wiki) Right now though, what is urgently needed is the introduction and how to play Taiko. Can you do that?

As for the songlists, what I've done is just a sample. If you guys have any suggestions on how to improve the lists, I'm all ears.

I really don't think having Don-chan in the banner is a good idea for copyright reasons... even if it is hand drawn.

@Rokodo: I put the Taiko font on the front page, it's the 'i-love-epson' link. And typo on the word 'blogspost'. It's 'blogspot' Also, personally I think fanart works just fine. I've seen many bigger sites use fanarts on their banners and they don't get lawsuits or anything.

@crystalsuicune: Screenshots of AC is pretty out of my league. Maybe we can use the blank bar like Rokodo used and Photoshop in some notes/drumrolls, then have a picture of a drum explaining where to hit.

@Zekira: Can you do the song lists for Taiko Wii1/2 first? It'd be a big help. Try to follow the format as the example I gave (DS3)

@aqua Um,there's a tutorial in the DS versions..perhaps we can use -those-.

It's Sayonara Heaven,a nice song by Nekomata MASTER.

Being a song with some tribal feel to it,I figured that this song
would go well with taiko.*shrug*

Yes, I'm permitting you to edit entries directly, of course. Blogspot uses HTML, by the way.

A tutorial with Flash? That sounds like pure win. But it's gonna be time consuming though- I recommend we put up a simple tutorial first and work on this later. The basic structure of the site still isn't complete yet. Zekira I'm gonna need you to help me complete the Wii1/2 song lists. You can make an account if you want to, though it is not necessary. We'll start the transition by hosting files on kodoup then we can link to them on our new site when it's done. Also, file hosting is actually against the TOS of my host so don't up/download too much so we can keep a low profile.

I'm also risking this as an osu! beatmap mirror so don't put all your eggs into my basket just yet. We ought to keep the mediafire/sendspace links to hand as backups.

Go for setting up a new template, I just put the foundations there for you. I personally was not a fan of that template myself anyway.

No, and there's not a single competent blog or fansite anywhere. That's why I wanted to make one. You can help me out too There's too many articles for me to sort through by myself.

I had to apply a background first with the template designer to get the code structure (I'm not a pro designer remember). As such the blue of the font is slightly darker across the whole page, I tried to change it but the code does not seem to exist. As long as you are ok with it, I can leave it as it is?

I've redesigned the background so it doesn't look as cramped. Looks better now.

The background scrolls with the page now though.

I tried to use Rokodo's new hosting and seems works well. I uploaded fixed ver. of Senpuu no Mai AC ver., (fixed offset, SV and added Muzukashii) so please replace to this.

The boss is invisible. You have to find a tile adjacent to her so that she reveals herself. Hint: look at the rock formations that 'surround' empty spaces.

Yeah be alert since she'll immediately attack you once you find her.

4th floor: basically a spiral maze, just work your way inside.

5th floor: IDR. This is the only floor with a resting place. It will cost you around 3000 yen (most expensive inn ever), and you can only do it once.

6th floor: IDR

7th floor: eye trickery maze. Basically just don't rage if you suddenly take the wrong way.

8th floor: pretty straightforward, just work your way to the last bosses, and watch out for ninjas. If you get to level 40 by this floor, you can clear it easily. I was level 44 when I got here. (provided you use all strongest equips of course)

Snake boss? You must mean the Rokurokubi. That's Tenyou no Mai.
As for the mermaid, the song is Bubbly Queen. Both are already mapped, go find them in the front.

Hey,that probably explains why BRS ended up in the variety section.

BRS here is no longer just a song by Miku,now that it's a separate series on its own.
This kinda separated this song with Melt and World is Mine,so perhaps that's why 765
decided to put it in a different catagory.
Maybe we'll get Cyber-Wadaiko-2000 as the new 2000 for the lulz?
