MMmm if awaken doesnt want to go for rank anymore i would hope he'd atleast change it to a fitting AR to make it playable again. 9.6 on 7 star is the same as mapping a 5star with ar8..

00:12:584 (4,5,6) - and 00:22:948 (1,2,3) - spacing is overdone, it's a similar spacing as 02:21:243 (2,3,4,5,6) - which is unreasonable
I don't even know for what they stand for, you should change it or at least reduce the spacing, it feels pretty off, unfitting.

01:56:357 (8,9,1,2,3,4) - IIRC this was one of the reasons for the original DQ. There's a stream here like in the original, but there's just no rhythm in the song there to justify it. This might have to be changed again, and I thought you approached this part a lot better in Hoping Nothing

Won't go into detail but this map has definitely gone a long way and deserves its rank sooner rather than later. The other thing I'd suggest is raise HP drain slightly but most people seem convinced that weaker players should be able to pass extremely hard songs

So you remap parts again and again finally ending at Hoping Nothing which plays almost perfectly while retaining the difficulty and on revive you scrap it and go back to Second Gonkanau. Was really hoping this could get ranked in the best possible condition but I have no expectations anymore. GL.

God damnit, some people don't want Second Gonkanau (or some update), some people don't want Hoping Nothing, but nobody wants this to stay graveyarded forever. Just let him do whatever he wants.

I loved the original Second Gonkanau, but when the mods brought it down and through all the efforts of getting it qualified and re-qualified, the map turned bad...

But with the way it is now, it is good again.

I approve of this update.

Personally i think the Second Gonkanau feels alot more boring to play then what it did before the update. Before the update i actually enjoyed playing the map, after, not so much.

In Second Gonkanau:
  1. 02:16:402 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - I guess this part is the most troublesome when it comes to ranking? I dunno about increasing the spacing gradually here, since it doesn't really feel like the song is getting more intense, and is mostly just holding the same intensity. I'd rather go with higher spacing at 02:14:220 (1,2,3,4) - , then decreasing it for 02:14:766 (1,2,3,4) - , and gradually increasing it on 02:15:311 (1,2,3,4,5) - and 02:15:857 (1,2,3,4) - , then have 02:16:402 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - closer and constant before increasing it again for 02:18:039 (1,2) - .Oh, and I also think 02:16:402 (1,2,3,4) - and 02:17:493 (1,2,3,4) - would work well with more circular flow similar to 02:16:948 (1,2,3,4) - , since the music is repeating itself.
  2. 02:18:993 (3) - This huge jump is also a bit weird, as it doesn't seem to be a particularily strong note in the song, and the stronger part later at 02:19:675 - is spaced closer together than this.
  3. 02:21:857 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,1) - Wouldn't it be better to not overmap the stream? http://i.imgur.com/lXA8xur.png Unless it's just my headphones being crap, that is.

Hello,

Just a short queston -

why is in wkyikawa's Couple Extra and Second Gonkanau at 02:14:084 - a note missing? I can clearly hear a note there but it is left out. However in the Another difficulty the note was implemented :/ Don't you think that the note should be implemented in those two difficulties as well and if not why not? :)

Hello Awaken! I got interested in your map, so here I go!

General

  1. normal-slidertick6.wav doesn't seem to be used. You'll either have to use it or delete it.
  2. The background could be JPG file because of the large filesize. Saving as JPG will get a low filesize, but isn't lossless as PNG. However there wouldn't really have a difference unless you get deep, but yeah, you could still save some KBs when it's JPG.
    Here's a JPG version

Regraz's Normal

  1. 02:36:039 (3,1,2) - Because of the stack and different rhythm, this could cause readability problems. I'll have to suggest you try something else. You can try to change the rhythm (something like slider, circle, and slider) or change the placement and change the patterns.

Hard

  1. 00:28:402 - You seem to have missed something on the big gap. You should do something like you do in the following, like 00:29:493 (1,2) .
    This is applicable to 01:22:948 .
  2. 00:46:130 (2) - Maybe flipping it horizontally (Ctrl + H) would get a better flow since the previous slider ends to go right and the following hitcircle is also gone to the right. And maybe reduce the distance between this and the previous slider. Seems random.
  3. 01:29:493 (2,3) - I don't think this is suitable for Hard. The length of those two repeat sliders are not even, which can be hard to situate when to stop and restart. This is put in consideration because currently they fit perfectly the music. But if you decide to change it, try this:

G's Insane

  1. 01:18:039 (2,3) - Move it a little down because it almost touches the bar.
  2. 01:18:448 (3) - I barely can see this circle due to the stack. Do this instead:
THe difficulty has this old-style patterns, but it's fine.

Another

  1. 00:06:584 (3) - There's a similar case in your hardest difficulty which you'll see later (because I mod the last one first). Starting from the very first object, you kind of strictly follow the vocals. Yet, the slider I mentioned should then follow the vocals, else it sounds weird (well, for me) and gets a little inconsistent. I suggest you replace it by two 1/2 sliders on 1/1 snap.
  2. 00:31:130 (3) - Not sure if you intended to add a circle here, but this feels out of blue. Similar to above, it hits on a vocal yet previously you follow the drum. I would remove it.
  3. 00:40:402 (1,2) - 00:41:493 (1,2) - Those types of patterns with that kind of placement don't flow very well. I suggest you try something else. I don't have anything to suggest, but I know you have some ideas.
  4. 00:49:948 (3,1) - It seems hard to catch the slider (1) since the distance it quite big. How about you nerf it a little, maybe ~2.60x? Something like in the previous patterns would fit best.
  5. 01:09:857 (1,2,3,4,1) - C-C-Combo breaker! These suddenly turned into anti-jumps and don't play very well when you have jumps before. It makes a little uncomfortable move to the arm. Try this rhythm instead:
  6. 01:48:857 (2) - Sounds weird because the tail is on a downbeat which holds generally a strong beat, and something clickable would go better. Try turning this into a 1/2 slider and a circle, or two 1/2 sliders.
    This can be also applied to 01:55:948 (2) .
  7. 01:49:539 (6,1) - Petite imperfection sur le blanket.
  8. 02:05:766 (2) - I think you add an extra finish on the head. Doesn't sound nice when you have 02:05:493 (1) with a finish on its head.
  9. 03:19:266 - Maybe a circle here? It felt something is missing.

Riziawa's Couple Extra

  1. 01:01:675 to 01:02:220 - Something is OBVIOUSLY missing lol.
  2. 01:50:902 (2,3) - I suggest you try these position instead:
    Although I am not a really pro player, this still plays weird. It's best if you go with a unique movement, like you don't have to return. I had a little difficulty playing 01:51:175 (4,1,2) . I can't explain it to you well, but if you have questions about that, I'll try my best.
  3. 02:05:220 (1) - Is the 1/8 repeat slider intended? Not sure if 1/8 will do the trick, as it isn't really the right snap, unless I'm deaf.
  4. 02:09:448 (7,8) - This distance pretty large yet doesn't emphasize anything in the music. I would just leave a big jump between 02:09:584 (8,1) instead of both as (1) currently holds a stronger beat than (8). Which means that you should reduce a little the distance to get a distance around 2.30 ~ 2.50x.
Pretty good difficulty. I think I said dumb stuffs but whatever.

Second Gonkanau

  1. 00:22:130 to 00:27:311 - After that drum hitsound, you seem to forget to add hitsounds for this part.
  2. 00:23:766 (1,2) - Honestly, it would suit better if you switch the sliders in the timeline. Which means that the long slider starts first, then the short in the following. Having a clickable object on 00:24:039 doesn't get any emphasis due to the lack of strong sound in my opinion, yet having it on 00:24:175 will be best. This way, I don't know how the instrument used as a foreground is called, but it'll follow "that" sound (it's a sound aside the drums and guitar). Also it will keep consistency since you did that to 00:12:993 (1,2) - 00:21:720 (1,2) and others.
  3. 00:26:221 (3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4) - This is absolutely not following anything in this part of the music, quite overmapped, and it just adds useless intensity. You should just try something that would follow the music better. I highly recommend you try something else, try this rhythm instead:
  4. 00:40:402 (1,1) - I would want to see them somewhere other than the right side of the playfield. It's getting annoying and no fun when you have 00:38:220 (1,1) and others going on the same direction over and over. Doesn't also quite follow the music to me as 00:40:402 gets a new tone due to the beat.
  5. 01:01:130 (1) - The whistle hitsounds are really noisy for a quiet part. I'd remove all whistles on that slider. This also applies to 03:07:675 (1) .
  6. 01:10:948 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3) - You have this followed by the vocals, yet later you changed the rhythms and you followed the instruments, which can be an obvious inconsistency to me. It's so weird to have that, especially the triplets like 01:12:857 (2,3,4) where they all doesn't sound good. Since you follow mostly the instruments, it's best that you stick with the instruments. You can still follow the vocals, but mainly, it should be the instruments.
  7. 01:11:220 (2) - It could get more "flowy" if you flip it horizontally (Ctrl + H). You have previously 01:10:811 (4) that goes on the same direction as the 1/2 slider. It currently makes me feel uncomfortable to play because of the same direction.
  8. 01:41:084 (3) - Little imperfection, but was noticeable when I testplay. The distances in-between are not even, and it makes feel weird lol. Just make them 1.30x ~ 1.40x and it should fine.
  9. 01:43:675 (6) - Might need a new combo if you follow a pattern.
  10. 01:56:220 (6) - It sounds better for the drums and "that sound" if you extend this slider into a 1/2 length and remove 01:56:357 (1,2) . Currently it sounds random and not suiting for this part.

While I modding, I went through the whole thread and found posts left with ungiven kudosu. You might want to check if you want.
