When a person clicks the "Ask the Community" button, a message should show up saying, "If you have not made a search relating to your issue, search it here: " with a text input box next to it that would allow the person to search for the issue. The line after that should say, "If your issue is resolved, you can mark it resolved by adding "[Resolved]" (without quotes) at the beginning of the title by editing the first post."
I think people needed to reminded to search as well as self manage so that the mods or support does spend time going through each thread to figure out which are resolved or not.
