This is the one that I usually do, but by the time I have not paralyzed Eirin (bad luck) she starts spamming that 6-8k dmg AOE to all..
If you don't wanna simply focus kaguya, another strategy would be to spam row target spells to try and kill both of them at the same time. (multi target might end up killing Kaguya sooner, seeing that Eirin has double her hp) And again just pray that stuns work out for you. After Eirin and Kaguya are dead, just roflstomp Reisen. 8-)

I don't even see why that guy made a review in the first place. Tells us that Touhou is a ANNNEEEME game. Still gotta love the moment where he says "Shooting game, bullet curtain, it's a shooting game, yeah, just think of it that way"

I just found out now that Shin Gyakuten Touhou is actually the 3rd game of the Gyakuten Touhou series: Gyakuten Touhou was released on C74, GT2 on C76. I'm surprised no one is bothering in translating them... maybe it's because of the text being half kanji >_>

Okay I beat them already, I just changed my formation by a bit, as soon as kaguya will almost have no hp (estimate), put suwako back in, kill kaguya, and perma paralyze eirin.

Chen + Suwako = dead eirin lol

edit: kaguya did not join the party :(

So... OK, I just finally found out how I can play this on fullscreen without stretching...

...I was looking for it too complicated. I never realized that it was all in my monitor's settings, actually: the Image Size was set to 'Wide'. I simply set it to 'Auto'. So everytime I fullscreen anything that's 4:3 now, it appears as 4:3 like it should, so :3

Seeing this I tried to play Touhou like a confident little kid...

...and of course I got owned. Playing in Windowed for 2 months has gotten me used to looking at really small things.

But I persisted and tried and eventually ended up 1CC'ing TH9 on Normal (for the second time, without an insane amount of luck like my first 1CC) using Marisa. I ended up with a happy 87 million points (though I must admit it could've been larger if I didn't stupid up my third round against Shiki), and was able to add another ending.txt into my collection, and tried to save the replay, when I completely forgot about the Replay glitch and the replay didn't save :\ But still, at least I got Ending No.2's script wrote down~

...yeah as you may have suspected that's what's in my sig.

i wonder how you guys actually pass the game with 1cc. i can barely pass normal without dying on the 5th and 6th stage. or in PCB stage 4 boss.

grats mekadon.. shame that i haven't completed any touhou with 1cc yet :< not even 2cc >.<(well normal on 2cc but not hard) and i've known this game series for 6 years now .. have to fix that soon.

You have to defeat Nitori in random encounter battles on floor 7 (and 8 i think) and find the cutscene where she runs from you. When she flees away from you twice, she'll be on floor 9 (Near the East entrance i believe). Beat her and she'll join your pt.

For those who play SWR/UNL, what hamachi network do you guys play on?

I think I talked to her twice and have random encounter twice at floors 7 and 8..

Maybe I cant recruit her after i got past floor 10? she doesnt show up on floor 9 anymore..

I haven't been able to play UNL against anyone outside of SEA >_> aaaaaaaa

But starting April 20 until around 3 weeks I'll be in the US (Japan first for 3 days lol) so probably I'll catch up with you guys then :|

Mother freaking damn it...

Just when I thought I couldn't get a better run at Touhou 7. Bah.

No really! (Normal btw) I was able to grind everything up to stage 4 without dying (used 1 deathbomb on Lyrica's annoying 1st bullet wave though). Stage 5 entered and the cheap fairies went down like usual. Midboss Youmu, not a problem also. Boss Youmu... ate up 6 of my lives. Seriously. I was able to save myself with like 5 deathbombs, yet I still get hit 6 times.

It went the other way around yesterday: I lost a lot of lives to Prismriver but like, only 1 against Youmu (and the rest got eaten by Yuyuko). Well, partially because I provoked Merlin instead of Lunasa, but w/e.

Really, just when I thought I was already at the other side of reality, everything just falls apart. Bah.

Is the problem this? From the wiki troubleshooting...

Make sure the file path has no Japanese characters in it.

Check to see if this is the problem

What was your Cherry+ at? Cause if it was higher than "next to nothing", you could have used the bomb to skip one wave and force a border, then used the border to skip the next wave :O

Also, what the hell at 1159 point items? I imagine you're putting yourself at a lot of risk to get that many, probably losing more lives than it's worth when you could just play it safe.

Yuyuko already ate up my Cherries in the form of deathbombing anyway, so I didn't really mind; I would've bombed if I remembered to anyway (actually I never thought of bombing to get border... I only know of that now :P), but in general my bombs are reserved for deathbombing which apparently I wasn't able to do in this last one.

About the point items... really? I thought 1159 was a low number; ever since Stage 4 I hardly was able to get back up to the PoC anymore. Also, I got 1434 one time :\ Well, since it's Marisa, maybe I'm finding it ordinary to whore up all the items on screen or something... not to mention that this is Marisa-A, so I could probably get even more if I used Marisa-B or something because I can kill fairies faster (with the exception of the myriads of doom fairies on stage 5-6 though; Marisa-A seems more effecitve with the insanely high damage output). I never even noticed that my Point Item count was raising that high anyway (if that is actually high, like you said). Also, I wasn't even playing for points much, so I never really thought of hording up the point items.

When I change the name of the folder, it doesn't work at all. I open it and then windows just says it's not working and closes it

The pattern of Resurrection Butterfly (30% Reflowering on Normal) on Normal is only a few bullets actually; unlike Lunatic, the patterns don't stack and have a very easy to read fixed pattern (except of course, the red bullets that go in opposite diagonal directions at high speed, in which this case I lost my life to that). First is the Laser+Blue-Green pattern, then when the bullets are off fof that, the Yellow-Green one, then the Red ones, then repeat. The bullets disappear first before Yuyuko throws the next bullets, so it's highly unlikely I'm gonna be getting a border out of bombing those :|

And yeah I know about the mechanics of the Cherries lol, you didn't need to explain.

EDIT: I can has faster FPS? (I wouldn't wanna do that though lol...)

Mother freaking damn it, I've 1CC'd PoFV on Normal 6 consecutive times now, and all 6 times the game crashes when I try to save the replay. AAAAAAAAA. Even the workaround stated by TouhouWiki isn't working >_> Anyone else know another workaround? I think it's being caused either by my fullscreen or Vpatch, since before I applied those, saving replays was fine for me... >_>

EDIT: Just found out now that this is only happening in story mode replays; Match Mode replays still save fine

I have no idea, I just did... well I must admit I wanted to kill stuff like crazy and went to the PoC as soon as I can, even sometimes bombing just to kill everything I normally can't, forgetting that the extends here were depending on the items instead of the score...

try to explore the whole map per floor before going to the next level, thats all i guess..

basically, on most floors there is at least one boss per floor level. i think its Chen at the first floor (spoiler and good luck)

well i encountered chen as a boss and well i died D: i always forgot to check the SP.

and what does TP means? because when it rounds out per character they will disappear.

if tp rans out, the character will go back to SDM
every 20% of damage done to the character, 1TP is decreased, maximum of 5TP per battle can be lost.
just go back to town and enter the dungeon so that they--- you already know that

just use the character until it has 1TP/ran out of MP and switch to another character if you have extra
if the character is at the back row (reserve slots) they will gain MP (not TP) and it depends on their speed

make sure to save everytime you go back to town before going inside the dungeon again

about chen as a boss, for me chen is one of the hardest bosses there haha
so try to overlevel yourself of just complete the whole first floor by exploring every part of it, and you should beat chen easily

game is about overlevel or really good strategy or plain luck

also make sure to save first before encountering all bosses, so that you wont to explore half of the dungeon again lol
(always happens to me at 8F before xD)

(meh, wasn't able to screenshot the end result out of excitement) (yeah, the English patch has a bug with some of the text)
I finally 1CC'd a non-Easy difficulty outside of PoFV :P I wasn't able to screenshot the end results though... but I did end up with 1 life remaining (by 1 life I mean 1 star on the Player indicator). When Yuyuko's last spell was counting down '10', I was jumping around like crazy as I overzealously unleashed bombs screaming "HAPPY SPRING TIME AAAAAAAAAAAA" so in effect I used up a bomb, completely wasting the Spell Card Bonus :| (unless of course I remember having deathbombed there or died all in all... don't remember). Damn I never realized how annoying Youmu's patterns were here; I only realized it now when I escaped Stage 4 without dying recklessly... and suddenly lose 83247294 lives on Stage 5 ack.

...yeah, it's Normal, I know, I suck and probably don't have the right to broadcast this thing arond. But at least this is a good start for me~, and some people are currently waiting for me to do this, and as proof I need a video of it. Well... I can't record it on my own since my computer's weak... I'll cut the thing on my own so that I can put it in some video hosting site.

...and yes this means I have the script for Ending No.6~! Actually, getting the endings are one of the reasons I'm motivated to 1CC stuff... I just type them on to Notepad when I get them.
