Jumps should be regulated. Most of the time when doing jumps, you have to make sure that the player should feel as if they have to do so; this usually means jumps are reserved to key points during a song. (yeah my Oibon Jumps kind of like defies this aesthetic) You can also just periodically use jumps for an increase in difficulty; just be aware though that jumps must have a New Combo, and that they're not overused.
@arken: That's exactly the problem; Namco has mixed the songs majorly into those 2 categories several times, it's confusing.
