Hardest video game you've encountered?

Prinny 2 Dawn of Operation Panties Dood!
One of the last games I beat on my PSP before it bit the dust. So much frustration and anger.

The final boss though. I went from about 600 lives all the way down to about 200. (If you don't know, you get a total of 999 lives for the entire game. No way to get more).

Yup that game was a real head scratcher. Totally turned my o button to mush.
Though I found the asagi mode to be a lot more annoying. Damn those limited bullets.

I actually forgot about Asagi mode. My PSP died before I could finish it. It was so much harder because of the limited bullets! If you messed up on the boss, you were done. You would have no bullets and at that point, it's almost impossible.

Not really sure... Usually horror games because one small mistake can cause you the whole game.
Other than that... I thought Touhou Labyrinth was hard. Though if you put enough time it could be really easy, but I was lazy so I went to every boss underleveled.

Probably I Wanna Be The Boshy but I don't know if it counts as an individual game because it's basicly I Wanna Be The Guy with different maps, more evil things that kill you, and spiders. Terrible spiders which will cause you to have nightmares.

If you think touhou is hard you should play suwapyon 2. It's a 3D version of touhou with the ability to jump :3

Probably Jubeat. I mean for God's sake it's impossible to play a song well until you've played it 15 times and know where all the notes are.

Perfect Dark on Perfect Agent (N64) yeah takes a while to get use to the fact that you die in like 3-4 shots on that difficulty.

Mega Man 1 or 2 are pretty hard games, Dark Souls is very hard if you play it without guides and such, but it's an awesome experience.

I've recently played cat mario a few days ago and it was crazy hard :o
The game is full traps that will surely make you rage ;w;
And after a few hundred deaths I gave up, the game is just too hard :cry:

Not counting touhou, I'd say Zelda II: The Adventures of Link on the NES. Man that game was frustrating.

Also osu!s taiko mode because I still can't seem to figure it out

Dude if first 2-3 boss are easy for you in Dark Souls 2 , you are god. There are some boss like omg. Cant stop rage. They are not hard , but you need to play slow and move all the time because they can 1 shot you.....

ds is all about learning patterns and reacting to them. play the game through a couple of times and even the hardest bosses become (relatively) easy because it's all in picking up key information

The "Etrian Oddysey" series for DS...

God these games. Even right at the beginnging the enemies can nearly 1 shot your chars, not only that the common enemy usually got abilities to poison/confuse/entangle etc you from the start on.

Shortly later you get unavoidable terrain damages too, Super monsters chasing you around, traps, tricky risik vs reward situations. On top of that you cant simply buy new equipment or unlock it by leveling up, you gotta collect specific materials from mobs which drop these under only specific cirumstances, which you give to the shopkeeper and then buy it for a hefty price and its hard to get money since theres no free HP/MP regen anywhere and you barely gain enough money to heal up your chars. T__T

Im only progessing in one of these games because in one is a exploit where you can grind for money with near to no risik.
Oh and did i mention, if your entire party dies your progess is lost to where you last saved? Guess what, you cant save anywhere in the maze.

Basically, if you're looking for a challenge, you should play flash games which are made to be difficult, eg. I Wanna Be The Guy, Syobon Action, Unfair Mario, Unfair Platformer, The World's Hardest Game. If i had to tell a game you have to pay for, I would go for Dark Souls I and Resident Evil Revelations (on hardest difficulty)

The Dark souls 2 bosses are easier that the ones in the first game. The Npcs are harder for me haha :cry:

Planescape. Torment.

Ehmm, just, I'm gonna throw it there that is the most incredibly amazing game I've ever played.

the talking and story line that progresses is good and it's quite long so it's not that boring,
only bad thing I can think of is the graphical view, but to be honest what game can be this good,
and run on any toaster? (btw there's a graphical update which solves the problem)

time spent to finish the game was around 300~ hours :3

I've always played only competive games myself.. But i have to say Dark Souls. Since it isin't THAT hard, but it needs alot of patience.

One nice and sunny day I was bored. I thought: ''Man, I'm so bored. I need something to do.''

I went on steam and searched for cheap games. I found a game called 'Super meat boy'. ''Oh, I have heard about this game, maybe I should buy it!''

It was the worst decision of my entire life. After five hours, I found myself lying on the floor, bald from the pure annoyance and stress. It was horrible
