This isn't a thread about bashing peoples' suggestions. Good for you, you don't like something. This isn't the place for that. This is a thread to make suggestions, not bash titles.

Also: looking into mech titles outside of the obvious TTGL, Evangelion, and RahXephon. Looking into something perhaps a bit over half a decade old, and I don't mind if it's on the serious side of things or the sillier side of things.

First thing that comes to mind in a similar vein would be Jormungand and Jormungand: Perfect Order. Loads of moral grays, dealing with a nutso arms dealer. Fun to watch.

I've seen a few of those (Big O, FMP, original Macross). Gotta finish up Bokurano (read the manga, seen enough of the anime to know it deviates), but haven't touched Gunbuster/Gunparade. Gonna definitely check those out!

I recently watched White album 2 and I thought that was a pretty good romance, although it doesn't take place in a village.
Another one you might like is honey and clover, it's a comedy and a romance.

I don't really recommend watching anime in english dub since most, if not all, are bad dubbed. Well, if you want, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia is a good one and good in english dub as well. That's the only one I remembered watching in english so my bad. For good anime that ended, I'll recommend Mushishi, Suisei no Gargantia, Aria series, and Monogatari Series.

I highly recommend Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. It's my favourite anime to this point.
Amazing story, solid visuals, music was awesome (I still have a few EDs/OPs on my favourites list for osu! and on my iTunes playlist), English dub cast were amazing and the ending was very solid.

Fate/Kaleid Prisma Illya - Lolis AND action
Non non biyori - A very recent funny slice of life anime, I really enjoyed it.
Gosick - A nice mystery anime with a smart loli
Higurashi no naku koro ni - If you want to see lolis going full out on killing each other this is your show (also, even if you dislike s1 s2 is sooo worth it.)
Usagi Drop - Rin is absolutely adorable. That's it.

I'd suggest Gintama or Nichijou to you, I found both very funny, Gintama is around 200+ episodes long, and Nichijou is 26 eps.

The most Animes I have on my watch-list aren't fully released yet, so I can't watch the next episodes yet.

I prefer Romance, Ecchi and Comedy.
Something similar to no railgun, tomodachi ga, toradora, ookami, warawanai neko, yumekui, chuunibyou, outbreak company, zero no tsukaima etc.

Give me as many Animes as possible, because there's a large chance that I know some Animes already.
Oh, and I'm picky when it comes to the animation style. I usually don't watch Animes that have a rather old animation style.

Hiniku maybe you can try watching Kimi No Iru Machi

I've only seen the first episode but it has a nice romantic feeling to it and it's not mainstream either, it's one of the not so popular animes you should watch

Ayashi no Ceres has some action in it. It's mainly romance / supernatural, but you could give that one a try if you don't mind an older anime.

Valkyria Chronicles is a good action anime. It has some romance too. Other good romance/romcom are Rec, ef series, True Tears, and Midori no Hibi.

Both of those, while action shows, are definitely different types of action shows. Jormungand is more episodic and detailing with combat strategy while BTOOOM! deals with a survival game story; you have plenty of options in the latter compared to the former, but both are dark action shows that focus on battle strategy.

If you're looking for something that's merely a dark action show with pathos, give Gunslinger Girl a shot. Definitely not as action-packed as either of those but it's definitely worth the watch and the action is well-choreographed. Most similar to Jormungand in presentation though would be Black Lagoon.

im looking for an action based anime with a female lead that is at least in their late teens or already an adult (things like ghost in the shell, bayonetta or claymore or something) preferably fantasy but doesnt have to be. any recommendations?

Blood+ is pretty graphic in terms of blood and has a story based around vampires.
Witch Hunter Robin is based around individuals with special powers, though the main character's fifteen years old.
So you could give Blood + or Witch Hunter Robin a try if you're into action on the side of supernatural and don't mind older anime.

Any suggestions for something similar to Baki the grappler. I loved the detailed philosophy behind the fighting with a vague mystical aspect. anything helps.

Witch Hunter Robin wasn't anything special either, but hey, you never know until you try.
I don't 'really' have anything else that has a female lead. Claymore and Ghost in the Shell were the first two that came to mind when you said 'female lead' and I don't really watch much in the way of Fantasy nowadays.

While I'm currently on a re-watch of Katanagatari, why not add it as a recommendation here.

I have scarcely anything left save for HunterXHunter for my current watching, excluding the list of titles I plan on re-watching instead.

Think I fell out of Nisekoi at the 4th episode, and Strike The Blood was getting rather tiresome to watch.
I dragged my feet all the way through to episode 16 of that.

On reading a comment left at the previous page, I'd have to add that Witch Hunter Robin is a pretty good choice.

It doesn't blow your mind away, but it is a solid show that can stand on it's own without reliance on cliche. Plus it had a good soundtrack to boot.

Not sure if you already watched these anime or not but w/e, I'll post it for other people

If you haven't already watched Tokyo Ravens, you should try it out. I'm not exactly "into it" as much as Noragami or Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda, but it's still good.

Shinsekai Yori is a extremely slow starting anime but gets very intense on the later episodes. It's not that popular since most people stopped watching around ep 2-4.

Noragami's another one that I'd recomend and it's pretty popular though I heard that it only gets 12 episodes.

All 3 of those anime involve superpower/supernatural things.

Probably would be more willing to try these out at a much later date.

I have seen Shin Sekai Yori alright. (Not completed)

I've been struggling to keep myself afloat on the past few seasons already and I've been losing my interest in the upcoming releases.
I should add that some seasons do clinch, and some are rather bland.

Spring 2014 looks promising, to say the least.

Are you trolling? Because it's not cool to recommend such a show given what he's searching for...

Given that he's searching for somewhat seinen series with action my best recommendation would be one of my recent favorites Psycho-pass.

I don't like to describe shows because I think anything can be interpreted as a type if spoiler. However if you enjoyed btooom and jor~ I guarantee you'll enjoy this show.

if you've seen it just lmk i have tonnes of seinen shows stacked up ;)

I really enjoyed Inu-Yasha and it's sequel (The Final Act). 167+26 episodes.
First part is full of filler but some of them aren't all that bad.
So there's something for a longer anime.

Try Gintama. It's very long comedy anime (around 200 ish eps) and it's also from the same magazine as Naruto and One Piece.
Beware though that it contain a lot of dirty jokes so it may not a proper watch for children and that the first 50 episode may be boring, but if you can past those, Gintama is an awesome experience
