Oh my god, me too. This has got to be the thing that frustrates me the most about trying to get better at this game; I have to relearn my tablet positioning every time I play even though I've been using tablet for half a year at this point.

As far as weird habits; I nearly FC songs way above my limit when I play them the first time, and then can't pass them again for several weeks.

I got a lot:

- I blink when I realize myself not blinking often :lol:
- I tap a little tad harder randomly in the middle of the song then it vibrates my desk and my mouse moves :lol:
- When I play a jump map, I tend to not move my mouse a little more than I regularly do.
- If I'm playing Multiplayer, The WHOLE time, I'm nervous.
- During I'm playing I look at the accuracy percentage and score, then I miss :x
- I keep changing my finger placement on my mouse which changes my performance

Biggest:
- I tense my wrist and whole arm when I'm spinning (cuz I suck) and then my fingers on my mouse move and I can't play that well
- I randomly, subconsciously, move my mouse just a tad out of the circle on some random occasions
- I look at the scoreboard, score, accuracy, and combo....During a song :x

Curling up the finger I'm not using so it makes it difficult to use the other one when I suddenly need it.
Using index finger in easy places but switches to middle finger when I need to alternate a lot because of speed.
I play better with video/SB on. I think it helps me memorize the map or something because I suddenly have no clue where the next note will be when I turn them off.

And all the common ones that I'm pretty sure someone else mentioned.

When outside of my house on my laptop I find myself using the touchpad instead of using an actual mouse even though if one is available.

=Not using mods(probably not weird, but I do contradict myself, I want to aim for high ranks but I refuse to use mods, just can't stand using them)
=I never play a song more than once in a row, though coming back a couple songs later is fine, I just feel like I start missing more and more notes the more times I play a song in a row, this leads to me taking a while to beat some songs because I only come back to try every once in a while
=Only playing songs in my skill level(I guess this also isn't weird, but it's weird for me, I used to play songs above my skill level but now I just can't ever get my hands to feel comfortable, it feels like I have no control over the mouse at all)
=Using osu! as my music player, instead of other media players I just turn on osu! and let it do its thing. Besides, I seem to have trouble finding any of the music I want to listen to that I can easily find on osu!

Taking unnessecary turns with my pen on the tablet which makes it harder to hit notes and makes me miss a lot more, Mostly doing it when just derping on easier songs but still it's annoying xD

When I somehow have my fingers on the zx keys to ready for spa,m ( i play with mouse only usually), during harder maps when i have to keep calm, I get this burning urge to press the buttons, which usually distracts me enough to miss xD

I tend to blink a lot or hold my breath a lot throughout a difficult part of a song that I can't get. Or I unfocus my eyes for some reason. Also, my z pressing arm tends to get all stiff and it's difficult to move with the beat .

I for no reason never put the damn tablet right next to the keyboard, but farther from the mousemat. Making my right arm extend too much and being uncomfortable.

In multiplayer I always tend to look down at what place I am in and end up missing something. Also I can't play with the scoreboard on the left hand side for the same reason.

My pinky is bending outwards only when I play osu! (it starts to hurt after playing for long time) ;w;

(I borrowed my parent's wireless mouse as example)

I like to change my pen grip on every break, it sucks because I usually end up holding it so loosely it feels like it will fall out of my hand any second.

I have a tendency to change the angle of my wrist while I'm playing, causing my mouse to rotate slightly. This causes my mouse to drift away from its starting position as I play, making it more difficult to play long songs without breaks. It's not much of a bother after getting a mouse with no acceleration though, my DeathAdder would actually fall off my mousepad if I didn't re-adjust during breaks (which is unbelievable, considering my mousepad measures 45cm across).

I mute osu! in deathstreams so that way I can hear the mouse clicking and I can go through it better.

Because I only had to use my laptop webcam. It's the only camera I can find around that time. /straightforward

I click repetitively when I'm spinning even though I have the keyboard key pressed down ;o

I have to have my tablet arm (i'm ambidextrous i sometimes play lefty) bent ever so slightly with my elbow raised and resting on something, Otherwise i can't be comfortable :S

During breaks, I find myself constantly tapping z and x to the beat of the song. And when I get close to fullcombo-ing a song, my hands shake and I end up missing a note 99% of the time. >.<

And sometimes I spin my mouse when there's no spinner lol ^^

I have a very awkward habit to play osu! by only tapping the Z key for every map. No idea why, but I cannot alternate z/x keys with only one hand. If I reach a rather challenging stream within a map, I just refer to mouse click/z, but at random times, I tend to attempt to z-tap those as well.

I have like 2 habits that change if one cant be done. Foremost I drink a lot while playing osu if there are a lot of pauses. Sometimes I mess up the timing and...yea, I fail hard XD
If I'm not drinking then I'm smoking right now and in the end...it sometimes happens too that I mess up the timing of the pause ^^

Others then that I have a habit of rearrange my keyboard and mouse a lot.

I'd tap my feet according to the rhythm, which is a good thing.

The bad thing is that I'll tap them real fast and hard when I get nervous and even my mouse are shaking because of that.

Durring breaks I'll quickly alternate between the X and Z to do something. If I don't do that, I feel I miss the starter more.

I alternate between Z and X key when I play but when there are 3-4consecutive hit circles spaced apart, I use either X/Z to hit ALL 3-4Hit circles between switching back

I have a few... One is that I slowly tilt my head to the left while playing until I realize that I'm doing it and fix it, if it's a longer song it could happen again :p

I sometimes get super determined to FC a beatmap and i won't stop playing until I've succeded. Banchobot tracked the amount of retries I did on "Uchida Maaya - Gimme Revolution!" and it got up to 1700.

I don't do it anymore, but my eyes used to close when I was doing spinners.

Also I used to tilt my head slightly to the left when I was playing sometimes. Stopped that too.

missing notes

I singletap with each individual finger, and also alternate. The finger I singletap with is decided by the finger I last landed on after a stream or alternating section. I only alternate to keep stamina, or to do really fast singletap patterns (like 250-260bpm or higher), as well as some jump patterns since that takes some of the strain off of my tapping hand allowing me to focus more on aiming.

I also lean in when I'm trying to spin fast, and for some reason there are some specific patterns that I can't play without cursor dancing. As in, if I go in a straight line I fuck them up somehow, but when I cursordance I do fine. Still don't get why this is, and it's only with like 3 or 4 patterns I've ever seen.

I normally alternate (badly on everything). On rare occasions, when I get frustrated enough with the start of a map that I think I should be able to FC, I'll try to singletap it. I can't singletap for shit but sometimes it gets me through the start of the map so I can break combo immediately after from my terrible singletapping. If that doesn't work, I'll turn on DT or FL for 1 or 2 attempts and feel demoralized when I fail really quickly.

Weird habits...

Always tilting my body to the right while playing. Not sure if it's a bone issue.
And... always fucking up my pen hand stability and broke combos around 100x before the song ends. T_T

1. I snap as fast as I can, putting speed above aim
2. Sometimes I just play with relax but tap anyways, pretending that it's my clicks causing the hits and that my hand synchronization is good.

when i know i overtook myself in score and the white flash appears on the left i get totally nervous and fail the FC :)

Because it's not, nobody I've ever seen holds a mouse perfectly straight. It doesn't affect jumps.

I realized something when I was playing last night. I curl my toes up tightly and stress the muscles in my legs during high pressure situations. I guess in an attempt to keep me from tensing up in my arms/fingers/wrists, I subconsciously tense up other muscles. I have to say it's pretty successful. I can generally stay pretty loose in the areas that matter.

I actually do that too sometimes. I press the top part of my right foot against my desk. It somehow feels that by applying pressure on my foot, my hands stay more "relaxed" (?). It's weird, I can't really explain it. Maybe it's just a reaction to the nerves.

Hitting my keys realy hard when I feel I can't keep up on streams. Hitting hard when jumping too.
Sometimes tapping to the beat using the two keys at the same time during breaks especialy on songs I realy like.
Readjusting my pen almost every breaks.
I like to spin my cursor everywere in the game and during breaks but on spinner I get slow RPMs.
Almost always lucky 100/50 hit notes after a spinner that seam to be the end of the map.
Checking combo/accuracy/position in MP... while playing and missing.
