WAIT
YOU ALL GOT TO BE SERIOUS AND I WAS LATE
But honestly, we can turn this around. Is posting "morning kyonko" and "morning slimfast" once every 24 hours such a big deal that it requires large, drawn-out narratives of dkun masterfully utilizing a glaive to exemplify how "bad" OT has become? No.
In fact, I can't say OT is as bad as anyone claims.
The point of avoiding shitposts was so OT's users could have a good time in the alienated subforum—didn't matter how. I have no idea how things were "back then" and I don't really care. I was having a particularly good time in OT today, and for some reason beyond my comprehension, modmins decide to take action. The problem is that I see nothing wrong here. OT has been acting as I would expect. Which brings me to my next point:
On that note, the only way you can get more users in here is to get people that would browse off-topic forums in circle-clicking, which is a pretty slim chance in itself.
Every Off-Topic always has the same standard. Back when I was in Bungie.net, the slogan was "if it doesn't fit anywhere else, it goes here." In here, it's "for the not-so-logical discussions." OT is always treated as the black sheep—the weirdo in the family. It shares a unique mindset with its users. Trolls are common, random, sporadic humor is the norm, and mods got to act like mini-tyrants but also as caring seniors towards the userbase.
The most important thing is that the forum can stay active by means others cannot afford—spam, shitposts, and otherwise being uninteligible. I stay in places like these just for that luxury of being stupi--I mean stupid.
(TL;DR) I don't know if it could be better, but it doesn't matter. OT's fine as it is as it has not fallen to absolute circlejerking and/or stagnant inactivity.

I'd never post that anywayCDFA wrote:
Is your inability to now post "hi cdfa" really such a big deal that it requires large drawn out paragraphs exemplifying how anybody with any sort of power has grown deep into corruption?

People that belong in OT will naturally flock to it, assuming they have the time and leisure to do that. It's how I ended up here, and I don't plan to go anywhere else anytime soon unless peppy decides to overhaul the website (which was why I left my previous board in the first place).Mara wrote:
And how do you think we are going to get people in OT? Shitty threads really don't attract people. They actually scare people away.
