What I'm trying to get at by quoting the OP here is to not leave a list of "this is stuff I like go watch this now". We're supposed to be fulfilling search criteria from a poster, not just...offering blanket suggestions. There are guides on many websites for titles major anime fans should watch to just be in the know, so doing things like quoting those here does not help anyone (maybe adding lists like those to the OP would help).ampzz wrote:
...we move on to the part of offering suggestions to particular users which is simpler if you do something that includes:
- Try to break up certain aspects of your suggestion list by grouping similar anime together or, if they're after multiple genre requests, group them into their respective labels.
Some people prefer being able to organise their plan-to-watch lists by watching one genre type at a time.- Possibly give your own short take on the anime titles which doesn't have to be much, even a few words is better than nothing at all.
- Take into consideration of which anime they've listed as already seen or the comparative title they're after.
- Offer a few anime titles at a time, even if they are the OVA of the same named anime title as most people might skip OVA, OAD or movies since they didn't know about them.

I watched and liked Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and Black Lagoon. Where should I go next?
A mediocre response would be the following:Suggestion wrote:
I would suggest both seasons of Jormungand (Jormungand and Jormungand Perfect Order). They have a heavy focus on action, deal with bouts of moral ambiguity, feel very different from most other action anime, and have a mature look and feel to them. The emphasis on gunplay in its action make it more similar to Bebop and Black Lagoon compared to Champloo, but the fight choreography is still there and rather intense.
A bad response would be the following:Suggestion wrote:
Watch Jormungand! It's full of action and Koko is a badass.

Notice that offering a more detailed suggestion would be able to possibly highlight elements of the show that people liked. It's a matter of finding plenty of similarities between titles, whether that'd be tonally, plot-wise, character-wise, animation-quality-wise, and so on. Generally, the more things two shows have in common while still being their own thing, the better the suggestion is. If they ask about a show you don't know about and don't provide detail on what they liked about it, do some research. Reading a plot synopsis/reviews on sites like Anime News Network or MAL generally can aid in making better suggestions.Suggestion wrote:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Btooom!
Summary: Ryōta Sakamoto is an unemployed 22-year-old who lives with his mother. In the real world, there may be nothing really special about him, but online, he's one of the world's top players of the combat game called Btooom!. One day, he awakes in what appears to be a tropical island, though he has no memory of how or why he has come to be there. While wandering around, Ryōta sees someone and calls out for help. The stranger responds by throwing a bomb at him. Ryōta soon realizes both that his life is in danger and that he has somehow been trapped in a real-life version of his favorite game. In the game Ryota meets Himiko, who is another Btooom! gamer — and supposedly Ryota's in-game wife.

Does anybody have any suggestions for good slice of life/comedy/school anime? Things like MM!, Kannagi, K-On!, etc.Three shows that are definitely worth your time, if your funny bone agrees with silly.
- Great Teacher Onizuka. It is a silly comedy and indeed does not have the moe factor that the three titles you listed have (I personally don't mind the lack of moe in the slightest, but eh). Some points get a little after-school-special-ish later on in the series, but it's still damn silly and funny. Easily one of my favourite comedies out there.
- School Rumble. Basically, this is love polygon heaven. It is goofy about it every step of the way. Not the least bit serious. It has a special place in my heart and always lightens my mood.
- And Yet The Town Moves. One of the more underappreciated Shaft shows out there. Also not a serious show (then again, you asked for comedies), and it is a little off-kilter at points. I still find a lot of the humor in this show genuinely funny and the last episode is both sad and amazingly funny.
Also just watch Welcome to the NHK. Dark, dark humor at its finest.

The anime's that i already watched (in that sort of genre) : sakurasou, chuunibyou, special A,maid-sama,oreshura,boku wa tomodachi ga sukunai (and also the sequel),tora dora, clannad (and clannad:AS)
I would be REALLY grateful if anybody knows any good anime of that sort of genre (and also not included in the above) THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!
Simple; just watch every generic anime that somehow develops a fan base due to one or two of the female characters as the protagonist is either the dense, stereotypical harem lead or the kind that completely lacks any impact by themself.Fadil wrote:

Over all, most anime titles have become far too generic over the past few years as they take good qualities of decent, older titles and try to profit off them by poorly executing the characters in a (highly likely) copy/paste story setting with minimal effort in trying to create a unique story.
Let's use Shana from Shakugan no Shana for example; before she came along there was very minimal to zero focus on 'pettanko' (no, she's not a bloody loli you gits) and short characters as they were generally looked down upon. Then the anime aired and after that there was a rise in the 'new' stereotype (which actually existed before) of these pettanko and short tsundere types just exploded over the anime scene to the point where even only 2 years the character type was boring as heck to see in anime.
With a few rare exceptions like Taiga from Toradora! for example.
Biased view aside; here's a bunch of titles to venture a try at in no particular order:Rule of thumb: Don't just judge an anime by how 'pretty' it is as some tend to skimp on actual plot favouring just trying to make shit look shiny/moe (lol) focused as some of the older anime titles are really enjoyable and under appreciated.
- Love Hina - Strong nostalgia on this title; one of the few titles which kicked off the harem stereotype and a somewhat likeable cast.
- Mahoraba: Heartful days - Not a school setting but this is still quite enjoyable with the character interactions.
- Angel Beats! - If you haven't seen this already it is probably then you've missed out on a really decent piece of anime. The anime keeps a continual check on quality from the opening, to the mid and finally with the closure.
- Hachimitsu to Clover - Simply enjoyable and is something the base of Sakurasou can be taken from as it has a guy unsure with what to do with his life until meeting a certain talented girl.
- Seto no Hanayome - This title really shows you how well comedy can be executed with a very enjoyable art style and character line-up to boot.
- Seitokai Yakuindomo - A really comedic take on an all-girls school come co-education status.
- School Rumble - One of the memorable and successful school themed based anime that actually proved to set standards for quite a few of the current day stereotypes. The only thing which was the shame in this series was the third instalment.
- Kannagi - A really down to earth school life comedy with some really interesting concepts based around the cast.
- Kimikiss Pure Rouge - Not really something that most would actually recommend but you could probably give it a shot.
- Nyan Koi! - The interactions between the male protagonist towards both the female characters and the cats within the series (which he is allergic to) is quite nice.
- Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai - I can see the ending! No idea how Manglobe managed to nail this correctly yet completely screw up Hayate no Gotoku.
- Lamune - I would be surprised if anyone would even know of this anime; it's one of those rare slow romance types that you either come to like or not.
- Seitokai no Ichizon - A really balanced harem comedy which for how much of the anime screen time in based purely in the one room is executed quite well. Avoid the second season as AIC ruined it.
- Karin - Might appeal to you or someone else. Vampire female lead with a protagonist who finds out about her secret; love ensues!
- Fortune Arterial: Akai Yakusoku - Looks pretty as the artwork was actually based off August's visual novel but the ending was sort of weak to me.
- Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun - Might appeal to you, might not. Think typical shoujo setting.
- Shuffle! - I feel dirty even letting this have a placing in a recommendation list but it might be something you could enjoy. If you've read the visual novel of this you'll understand why I really dislike this.

I'm searching for an anime in the genre of gore, resembeling the newly released Attack on Titan. Something including the Supernatural of course. I actually do not mind if they are in Manga state right at the moment. Any suggestion is great.
Samurai Champloo is an absolutely amazing anime, I promise. Its story follows a girl in search of a specific samurai who smells of Sunflowers and will be referred to as the Sunflower Samurai. The anime is fairly brutal, sparing no scene of blood shedding or destruction. It has great historical background and has some nonfictional plot which the watcher needs to be constantly reminded that it is NOT real or historically accurate. Highly recommended .
