That's encouraging... I had already started the map before I posted here and noticed the pre-existing one.

It doesn't look like the current one has been touched for a while, and the insane mode is pretty much a clone of hard. I'm actually quite happy with how the one I've been making has been turning out, so I guess I'll finish it and see what people think. Oh, and I'm using the opening version, the other one is full. (And 4 minutes long)

My first beatmap, a hard one:

Tsuneo Imahori - Tumbling Dice [Insane] (FINISHED!)
Rip Slyme - Super Shooter (In progress)

Even though NOBODY would take on this beatmap, the beats are terribly uneven, I'm constantly having to mix 1/8 beats with 1/6 beats for a beat stream. The song is cruel on me, I'll be cruel on the players by making the hardest beatmap ever (not because beats are quick and far apart, they're not, but because it's pretty fast and constant.)

I hope it gets ranked when done...

Chrono Cross - Yasunori Mitsuda - Time's Scar

It's the opening theme to Chrono Cross, and I think that the great percussion in the background really lends itself to a fun beatmap, if done correctly. I'll probably make normal/hard follow the melody, while the insane map will get creative mimicking the percussion and violin bits.

One more thing, instead of repeatedly posting in this thread, should I be just editing my original post?

also idk do what you like but to be honest I doubt when someone wants to make a beatmap they scan this entire thread to see if anyone else has reserved it

then again I make songs basically nobody else would think of doing so it doesn't even concern me really.

I picked Red Hot Chili Peppers - Love Rollercoaster for my first attempt, and it's nearly completed. I've done all the phrasing, and am only fixing up the last parts of layout. Then that's it unless I decide to attempt to add video. If anybody wants to test it out when I have a worthy build, I would appreciate the feedback before submitting it for distribution. PM me here.

I also just began The Breeders - Divine Hammer so I would have something else to work on when I get sick of hearing the RHCP track.

If you're unsure of anything, it also wouldn't hurt to post in the Beatmap Help forum. Additionally, the purpose of the Completed Beatmaps forum isn't to say "here is my perfect, super-awesome beatmap", but more of a "here is my nth draft, please review and if necessary help me revise it", so there isn't really a need for undue caution.

However, if you'd still rather take the private distribution approach, that's your decision and we'll honour it (right?).

I'm reserving IOSYS - Futatsu No Tsubasa. It's an amazing song, by far my favorite from IOSYS, and will likely be the first thing I beatmap. Doesn't mean this will be anytime soon, though. I also can't decide if I should do the cut version with the flash video that's about 2:20ish, or do the entire 4:30ish version.

Okay, I'm dropping those last three. I can't seem to find the time to finish 'em. Forgive me if somebody else wanted to do them, saw them here, and decided not to.

Meant to Live is gone, I didn't like how it turned out after awhile, despite the song rocking so much.

My current, and ONLY beatmap I'm working on is the god known as:

Please Teacher - Snow Angel AMV (Official)

It's from the Please Teacher anime (As stated in the song title...), which is a FREAKING AWESOME (Although somewhat short) Anime, with absolutely wonderful English voice acting for a change.
I hate dubs, I hate 'em, but Please Teacher shows that it's possible to get skilled voice actors that fit every character in the show. Not to mention that no content in the actual series is cut.

Alright, I'm getting off topic here, anyways...

I will get this beatmap done, and I've got the video down to an ok file size of 22MB, with very nice quality.
Don't expect it anytime soon, however.

I'd like to reserve Eyes on Me by Faye Wong for the time being. Although I doubt anyone would be making the following beatmaps on a hurry, I'm also reserving Song of Ashley from Super Smash Bros. Brawl (the Japanese vocal version) and...Maemuki Roketto Dan. Yeah, I know.

After I've hopefully gained some experience with these, I'd like to attempt an authentic Ouendan beatmap. Could I try my hand in Kibun Joujou, please?

I use OSS video converter for compressing videos. It works pretty damn well imopinion (compressed an 85 megger into 24 or so, pretty good quality). Using Xvid and occasionally divx codecs.

I do a lot of musical work (hell, when I'm in college in a few years, I'll be majoring in music theory/composition). The styles I go for tend to vary. I've definitely got these types of works done (unfortunately they're on another flash drive >:):
-Classical/chamber ensemble pieces.
-Trance.
-Breakbeat.
-A strange mix of MIDI ska music, terror, and breakbeat.

I did a search on the forums and the song didn't turn up in any topics, so I'm working on Evanescence - Bring Me to Life, accompanied by a bone-chilling Ah! My Goddess AMV that you can't find available for download anymore. (Except for crappy .flvs on Youtube)

I haven't heard much from the band, but this song has grown on me. It sounds epic, it gives the feeling of suspense. :3

I've got Hard Mode done, so I'll submit it tomorrow or something.

I am in the progress of making a bunch of Earthbound beatmaps. Here the songs I shall map out:

Jeb Million - The Paradise Line (from Mother)
Keiichi Suzuki - Snowman (from Mother)
Mazedude - Valley Gremlins (Saturn Valley remix; from Earthbound)
Ailsean - Joe Cam Stole My Bike (Bicycle Theme remix; from Earthbound)
Taeko Onuki - We Miss You ~Love Theme~ (from Mother 3)
REDALiCE - Open the Door (Door Opening Theme remix; from Mother 3)

These shall be released simultaneously in a set upon completion. It could take me a few weeks to finish, especially since I'm getting ready for Anime Expo which is in a few weeks.

UPDATE: Easy map for each song completed.
