I really enjoyed watching Hyouka. Although it was really bashed by my friends due to it's 'pretentiousness' of being another moeblob and the 'lack of any complex writing or plot device whatsoever', I find it to be a great anime and have no regrets spending hours on end watching each and every episode thoroughly (trying to prove my friends wrong)

Hey please recommend me an anime. I dont have any genre request im up to anything but not an anime where everyone are highschool students.
I want something with more fantasy and less reality to it.
Animes i enjoyed before:
Higurashi no naku koro ni+Rei and umineko no naku koro ni of course
Clannad, K-ON complete, kimi ga nozomu eien, evangelion+movies, hellsing,macross frontier(<3), Claymore, watched a bit of one piece and slayers but didnt finish, oh and soul eater - i really liked this design and the world of the anime

I'd suggest Kaiji. Just started watching and it's like a renewal.
I'm sure you already watched this as it's still airing on this season I still mention it anyway, try Magi, it's a good fantasy anime with some adventure mixed in. You can also try Ixion Saga DT but that one don't really have any plot so far (more like a gag anime).Hanyuu wrote:

Other than that, maybe try Katanagatari, Tower of Druaga, Brave Soul (this ones a movie), and maybe Kyousogiga too (I don't know about this as I only watched the ova & and it still airing too)

Also, I'm currently watching paranoia agent and im loving it! are there are other paranormal / haunted, scary anime's you can recommend?
Paranoia Agent isn't supernatural horror. Finish it up and you'll know what I mean, but...(thematic spoilers that kinda spoil the rest of the show if you're not done) the supernatural horror idea is a red herring to lure viewers in, really. In reality it is a gigantic metaphor for the variety of effects that paranoia has on the psyche, how it is horrible for the mind yet absolutely necessary to maintain relative sanity, as everyone gets paranoid on ocassion.
For supernatural horror, you've got slim pickings for actual quality. Mostly Hell Girl, maybe Ghost Hunt. If you're interested in supernatural imagery interspersed in a psychological horror series, I'd recommend Ghost Hound, Paprika, or Perfect Blue. From this current season, for an eerie, slow, visually strange outing, I'd recommend Shin Sekai Yori.
Hell, really, I mentioned Perfect Blue and Paprika just now, but do yourself a favor and watch all of Satoshi Kon's work.

Both of these are a stretch, but Toaru Majutsu no Index and Infinite Stratos are kinda similar. Both are much more light hearted, but Index has the fighting mixed with ecchi scenes and Infinite Stratos has girls with abilities most guys don't have. Index currently has two 24 episode seasons and a movie (not out on BD yet) while Infinite Stratos has one 12 episode season and an OVA.DX5536 wrote:

-Action, with some form of love story on the side.
-Mecha works for me sometimes, as I loved Gundam 00 and Gundam SEED Destiny. Macross Frontier wasn't bad either.
-HD would be nice, but not necessary.
-Not buttloads of blood (Blood+ was probably pushing it a bit for me).

Maybe Code Geass? Definitely worth the watch despite somewhat lacking in the romance department. Another choice would be Escaflowne which is much better in terms of romance.
It's on-hold because I can't convince myself to finish the first season, despite being like... five episodes from the end. I just don't like the series, for whatever reason. I'll finish it someday... I think...Lance wrote:

Code Geass might be worth looking into - Gundam 00 had little in the romance part too but I absolutely loved it.

Look through the rest of Mamoru Hasoda's work if you liked The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Summer Wars and The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki are the first two immediate suggestions that come to mind.noneed wrote:

If you liked 5 Centimeters Per Second, then you'd probably do yourself a favor in checking out the rest of Makoto Shinkai's filmography. However, I honestly believe he makes the same film over and over again (filling something to the brim with artificial nostalgia), so the only other thing of his I'd truly suggest is the short film She And Her Cat.

As far as good, relaxing anime is concerned, there is a type of anime floating around referred to as iyashikei, where essentially a sort of Zen-like state is what is intended. Standout titles I'd recommend from this include:
- Aria The Animation/Natural/Origination
- Mushishi
- Sketchbook: Full Color's

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is my favourite right now. Unless you're in love with subs, I highly recommend the English dub.
Maybe Claymore or Witch Hunter Robin? I wasn't in love with either but they're both action oriented.
Just from a quick browse, it doesn't look like you watch mecha, which has been the bulk of what I've been watching lately.
