I've used DT on a lot of maps but the BPM is always less than 180 so i wouldn't call that a specialist

I'm curious how important the ability to recover from a Miss is, in higher level of play. Right now, a lot of songs I pass can often be primarily due to forcing myself back into a stream as fast as possible, but is getting good at recovering like that something worthwhile? Is it a skill that I would stop using in higher levels of play?

I WISH I had better recovery. Mostly unsubbed maps like Firce's Shinenkai or Haya Shinsenkai are where you'd want good recovery. But there's no such thing as a skill you don't want.

Being able to quickly recover from a miss is definitely an important skill to have!
God, I don't have enough time to post every epic score i make so here's a few more.
Well I guess since recovery can also apply to getting back on time from doing 100s, it would definitely be important then. I didn't think of that at first.

Instead of deleting it, i guess it's better to improve the colour assignment by putting some SERIOUS challenges....as it was into CTB thread.
Just reset the colours, decide on how should the challenges be (maybe with the help of some other good players), post them and wait for people to accomplish them :3

Hmm, surely i'm not the best one to name songs....but I guess that the challenges should be structured on (obviously) the usage of a Mod + a certain quantity of accuracy acquired like:
- - FC "xxxxx" with acc > 98% with HR
or
- SS 3 Taiko only maps with HD

I'll give both of the second one a try, especially since I'm trying to break into the 200bpm zone right now for FCing and HR. Plus, it would give me a good excuse to get off my ass and stop being lazy about finally trying to SS something.

I tried both beatmaps of Go Beyond!! last night for a while and came to the conclusion that, for me, [Shalon]'s taiko and Alace's taiko are pretty distant in terms of difficulty. Alace's map for being "more complex" is actually in my grasp to complete the proposed challenge, but [Shalon]'s map I'm a far way from even being able to pass. They also require different specific taiko skills to do, and it really feels like [Shalon]'s map is just more difficult period rather than they're a set of skills that I'm just not good with. I don't think the grace of just S'ing [Shalon]'s makes up for it compared to Alace's. Anyone wanting to just cheese something to get HR specialist would just pick Alace's taiko I'm sure.

Some are great with HR at any BPM, but can't HD at all. Some have incredible speed but can't stream worth a damn. I agree with you in the sense that Shalon's Taiko is much more challenging than Alace's, but since both maps are viable HR challenges, I gave the option for either or.

Just before I played that song and did that I was considering posting and asking if I might be doing something wrong with longer streams, but I think it's just that it's taking a lot of effort to switch my mind from wanting to read an entire pattern then do it to having to read a pattern while doing it at the same time. It gets kind of impractical to try and read and prepare for a whole 1/4 stream when it's 7 or more notes, but it's how I've always done 2, 3, 4, and 5 note patterns. Did other people encounter this sort of issue when learning2taiko or is this just a me thing?

To give you an example : I can read up to 320+ BPM nomod in a 4/3 screen.
