so i tried tp'ing to my blaze farm and this is result.
what.
I lost a diamond sword, 2 diamond picks (I took 2 because 1 was wearing out), what I mined out including 2 diamonds, all my steak, and probably some other important-ish stuff in that incident. I still stand by the quote below.iYoonaRawrx wrote:

Should be even more, like 200-500 so that people can't use it every time they die. They have to consider if what they lost was really that valuable to them that they are willing to spend that much, instead of "herpderp I died due to my own negligence let me just spend a little money to get my stuff back every time"VelperK wrote:

waiting for this to be fixed now that i have enough money to buy 2 villager eggs.[ JJ-core ] wrote:

The bug seems to happen only when you are holding a placeable block like dirt, stone etc. You could try holding a tool or nothing before you click, but no promises.kwakkevin wrote:

I actually decided to just try buying anyway and it worked just fine.JInxyjem wrote:

I will NOT get in this server again without a /back command. The game just makes you feel worse about yourself by making you think: "I'm such a stupid asshole, how the heck did I just die like THAT, it can't be real."
Or we could make /back command so pricey that virtually no one would use it every time they die.JInxyjem wrote:

Or you could think about how or why you died, and make sure you don't repeat the same mistake. People make mistakes, what's important is you learn from them instead of pussying out and then making yourself feel worse about yourself
90% of all deaths in mc are avoidable. As for the last 10%, chances are that lava was involved so no way you can get your stuff back then.
Except that in minecraft you don't usually learn a thing when you commit a fatal mistake since it's so utterly stupid that you weren't even paying attention.JInxyjem wrote:

Uh, no and no. And it wasn't my case, it was just to name one silly example. You can be focused on fighting some mobs here and there or you just were running without attention to the ground and suddenly fall in a trap for example. I'm pretty sure the game isn't about watching your step every second of your gameplay, that isn't enjoyable at all and that's also the reason the command "/back" was created.JInxyjem wrote:
Wait, so did you jump 10 blocks down into the void, or did you walk into a chunk that wasn't loaded and fell?
Also, did you actually try to get back to the death spot by 5 mins
1. Not every second of the gameplay, just the ones where you're in a dangerous situation, and you should probably think: "this is dangerous, I should watch my step", not run around without paying attention. I don't take the same attitude going through a cave compared to say, running through Valhalla. One is unexplored and potentially dangerous, the other is a mob-disabled town. In real life, you'd be more careful if you were overseas for the first time as compared to being in your home.VelperK wrote:

2. Not only is this stupid and avoidable by noticing there is a large 16x16 gaping hole in your way, I also do not see how /back would help when your items have fallen into the void. Unless you meant "oblivion" as "a deep fall into another cave", in which case, I still think a hole in the ground is pretty damn obvious and you should look out for those while explorong a dangerous area.VelperK wrote:
Other example: you were mining in an abandoned mineshaft and you fall into the oblivion because of some missing chunk again. This is pretty much the most common case of stupid deaths.
dat smarty attitude.JInxyjem wrote:

In conclusion: Stupid deaths are easily avoidable if you pay attention when you are in a situation where it's supposed to be dangerous. For bugged deaths like a Nether portal spawning above lava and not making a safe zone (happened to me once) or falling into the void, your items are already lost so /back wouldn't help.
EDIT: By the way, is it possible to name outposts so we can do stuff like /town outpost <name> instead of using a number? Numbers are kinda annoying because they also change when old outposts are removed.
If we can, can CURRENT outposts be renamed?
Add "Don't dig straight up" and "Block off multiple cave branches to avoid ambushes" and you have just successfully prevented most deathsSakura wrote:

Well, what each town mostly does is either claim a village for themselves via outpost, or buy villager spawn eggs at the trading post.Clawsmash wrote:

Of course there are villages to trade from. The only problem is to find one not trashed and wiped out.Clawsmash wrote:

I DONT KNOW LOL. i had a general idea of what I wanted to make, but i never made a real complete sketch of exactly where each block goes and stuff, and i'm just following an outline. Some things happened and I had some few changes in plans and etc. i'm just making stuff on the spot lol.JInxyjem wrote:

It would be nice to add a server message or something to inform people not to update their clients when 1.4 comes.

I think admins should have the ability to do so.OnosakiHito wrote:
I have there a question. Is it possible to force people to unclaim blocks which has been placed at the border of a town/nation?
Especially when those people done that just to get you into nervs and which aren't even players in osu.
whymeman wrote:
This is getting a bit out of hand as far as I see. Especially from one who started the mess in the first place.I'll have to check with Eph since the server is not co-operating with me....
Fixed. Now here's the deal....
I'm already on my last ounce of patience dealing with incidents from the DarkAges town. I don't see anything funny shoving an outpost right up a town's behind that it can't properly expand its territory. So far, i've seen these towns victims of this kind of grieving act.
Waffle
Traversal
Gecko
I had to personally remove the outposts myself to get this fixed which is also not cool. I even removed the outposts near DarkAges for those that were also victims of their destructive behavior in terms of equal distance spacing sorting this matter out. But, in the process of doing so, ANY outposts that belongs to DarkAges that is close to a near by town was also removed as well.
If I hear one more incident coming from that town, I won't even care who it is, the whole town will nuked off the server along with server banning. I won't put up with it anymore with this attempt to start a war with other towns.

Hmm..... I could ask Eph about it and see what he says. If the build is proven to be stable enough then he'll look into updating.JInxyjem wrote:
Are we waiting for a 1.4.2 Recommended Build for Bukkit before updating the server or is there other reasons? The current Beta seems to be stable-ish according to the forums, and no Recommended is likely to come out due to 1.4.4 already under way.
EDIT: Except for a "bad packet id" bug in the Beta, which can be prevented with regular server restarts.
