Yeah, need this too!lildragon555 wrote:

You can change the speed with ctrl-+/- (technically, it's ctrl + whatever you use to adjust offset (in case you've changed those in the options from +/-)).lildragon555 wrote:

This is a big release not only because it has a new game mode, but because it brings in a lot of changes which may have been lost over the last two years, and makes further changes a breeze to make in comparison (if you want to know more about this, I explain it briefly here). But who am I kidding, you all want to try osu!mania, and now you can! A huge shout-out to woc2006 for implementing this game mode so well.
Keep in mind osu!mania is not yet finalised, and may still have bugs an.d issues which need to be resolved. You can post any issues you have to Technical Support (please start the thread subject with [osu!mania]).
Apart from osu!mania, there are a lot of other changes, all of which I cannot list in this one place. But here are some that are important to note:If you have issues, post them here, and note:
- Beatmap processing is now many times more efficient.
- BSSv2 is now live. The first time you update existing maps will do a full submit, but it will be super fast (and simple!) after that.
- Per-object hitsounds are in the editor (kudosu! to mm201 for this one). No more 10000+ timing sections to get your map sounding right. (we've been using this on osu!stream for a while now and you can't go back.) You can quickly set these using Shift+QWER and Ctrl+QWER.
- Allow recovery from failing in multiplayer by reaching full HP.
- Scrolling support to in-game online ranking list.
- Fixes to skin select to make it play more realistically.
- If your beatmap database corrupt or got processed wrong, include osu!.db.xxxxxx.bak in your post (attach using puush or mediafire).
- If your scores database corrupt or got processed wrong, include osu!scores.db.xxxxxx.bak in your post (attach using puush or mediafire).
- If you are seeing a graphical issue, please include a screenshot or video.
osu!mania notes:Note that as this is a pretty big release from a technical perspective, a lot has changed internally (most of which you will not see). A lot could go wrong, even though it has been thoroughly tested. If anything goes wrong, I have saved up sleep and will work my hardest to fix it in the shortest time possible. Please be patient.
- Please discuss this mode using the #osumania chat channel.
- Online ranking is disabled until feedback has been received and scoring and conversion is finalised.
- Please don't submit osu!mania maps yet.
- osu!mania editor is still very much a WIP.
- A lot of +difficulty mods are not yet finished/finalised.
- An updated template skin will be released soon. You can find more details on skinning at the wiki page.
- Adjust speed of notes with Ctrl +/-
On a personal note, this is the largest single-chunk feature another dev has contributed to osu!. I hope going forward we will see more of this, as it really helps keep the ball rolling while I am busy fixing bugs and keeping things running smoothly. I can't promise anything, but there may be another game mode in development in the not-so-distant future, so stay tuned.
osu! on.

How will we know when rankings are available?
Use Joy2Key. I use it to play with a controller and enjoy a DJMAX Mode using Left Up Triangle Circler0ck wrote:
I would play this on "controller", like DJ MAX Portable on PSP. ;_;
It's near impossible to press both LEFT (D) and UP (F) at the same time on the PSP though.. Any trick?KatsuiNyaw wrote:

Are we gonna be forced to do this? I want to read text properly, and how will I choose songs when everything is upside down? And yes I have tried it.BrokenArrow wrote:
Have you tried turning around your monitor?
Really? This actually matters A LOT, I'll give it a go next time I play.KcLKcL wrote:
EDIT: Wow I can actually use CTRL+/- to use HI-SPEED lol
on a dpad like on the psp its quite easy just press somewhere between up and left and it will press both. Pressing up and down at the same time however is 100% impossible on the psp.Searaphim wrote:

so all diff maximum 10m? why not "BIG combo BIG Score"? looks like another mode (std, taiko, ctb).peppy wrote:
Scores are standardised to 10m currently.
Seems like a score balance. I can't play 6k and 4k because I already get used with 7k, even 7k people said it is harder than 6k and 4k.Shiek2000 wrote:
Its an Awesome new Mode!! THX Peppy
But why I have an multiplicator of x0.86 at an 4k map when i Play it on 6k ?
i notice this one tooRey-vo wrote:
so, this is accuracy orientation? "BIG Accuracy, Big Score?"
Yeah, i noticed this as well. I played a converted Red Sign map from o2jam, and nearly passed it first try. I'm nowhere near as good at 7k games now as I was when I used to play o2jam and I've never gotten that close to passing Red Sign, even at my best.qlum wrote:
one bad thing I found of osu!mania now compared to the djmax games and generally to my feeling you die to slow, you can really make a lot more mistakes than in regular mode and it just feels like I am surviving for far to long even if I am just spamming buttons.
