pp rank is harder to raise it up than score rank for sure, but this indicator certainly shows that who is in higher rank by their skills.
Just a problem that I think would be is going one point in pp down will make me go down by 100s~1000s in ranks. XP
Because we are cramming a lot of people within 1~6,704pp [#1 White Wolf-san's pp], it seems inevitable.
Probably this will encourage people who only does hard/insane maps to do easy maps also because it is counted as separate ranking for each diff XD..

- Accuracy stats should be at the same line as pp. Accuracy label can be shortened as "Acc." and Ranked score can be placed at the new line. (After all, the new Accuracy stats are based on pp anyway)

I don't like the new PP system, but at the same time I believe the decision to have one was a good choice. This game has 22k+ ranked maps, and this makes it very difficult for new players to rank up.
In the old system, ranking up doesn't imply skill, but rather time. However, time=experience=skill; so to an extent having a high rank would generally mean you're good at the game.
This new system is kind of similar because it's point based, but to gain points you need to rank on the top 500's. The amount of points you gain is based on how 'difficult' the map is. This new system kind of implies you already have experience, and it rewards you for doing good on individual maps.
What I don't like about the new system is that you have to rank in the top 500's to get PP. This endorses the player to play the same map over and over again until they get a good score. I don't like that type of game play, and this is the whole point of my post.
Overall I'm fine with having PP shown in my stats but having my picture-tag-thing in game show my PP rank instead of the other system I do not like. The new system shows us skill, but experience is a very important achievement too. I think of the old system as kind of a single player game achievement sort of thing: do maps, accumulate points, get higher in ranks. It's nice. The new system forces you to be less casual.

The problem is that all people start crying about it because they all ranked, ranked and ranked (farming).

You guys should just start to practice the game and that's it.

No there is no option and there probably won't be. If you are better in CTB it will automatically be shown. That's it. Go and practice more standard and it'll be shown always on your username.lchgeorge wrote:

Yes! This is what I have been expecting for a long time. Now everyone is in their own play mode and the ranking is more accurate. Thank you peppy!
I had less problems if the score would have 1 or 2 more digits on the panel

I don't like how default mode for user profile and usercard is chosen. Because other modes are less popular than main mode you can get very high pp on taiko or ctb with just few play and then taiko or ctb becomes your default mode even if you play mostly standard mode.
I suggest other method to choose user default mode:
-by number of plays
-by last game played

That doesn't mean there's less people in taiko or ctb ranks. Even if you only played taiko once, you have your own rank and stuff. So if you get higher pp in taiko than in standard, it means you are better in taiko than standard. Therefore osu! takes it as your main game mode, even if you don't actually feel that it is your main game mode. But one thing is sure, it is the mode where you have the best skills. It's referring to the age of your records, not the age of the map itself. Ex. A #1 score on a 2008 map would give you the same pp as a #1 score on a 2012 map if all other variables were the same (That's almost never the case, but that's besides the point). A change for the better. A rank system (mainly when it doesn't imply direct competition) will always have flaws, but this one seems to make more sense than total score, even more when osu has an infinite number of ranked songs. Though I can understand how frustrating it can be for users dedicated to the old one, but it's not like that rank was destroyed.

I like the new ranking system. As someone who cares about accuracy more than ranks, I'm glad that I don't have to constantly worry about my overall accuracy anymore as the new system displays what matters.

I love this update so much. It motivates me to keep playing Taiko.
Most likely rank farmers aren't players like Cookiezi or White Wolf but at least there is effort to FC every single beatmap out there, while naturally skilled players prefer getting #1 on famous maps and make feel farmers like nothing, I don't agree with that. Or is just peppy asking rank farmers to get #1 on maps while farming? Lol looks like that's something WW would do.

CtB is also a rhythm game, if you think this you probably never tried to play without numbers above the ryuuta and tried to catch a timing jump.
