This thread has been better than that one since day 1. That thread turned terrible way long ago.

The LoL thread was good the first few pages, then it started filling up with baddies trying to convince their shit build and shit hero were the best and posting shitty stats pictures everytime they win a game, and the same shit is kind of happening to this thread. shit.

#1 We never discussed any builds on heroes
#2 Same with which heroes were the best, ok - somewhere in the middle over 1-2 pages but not all the time
#3 The only one doing that is iMercurial and kinda everyone ignores it

I think I'll have a go at The Defense, not like I dislike TobiWan's commentary but I'd rather analyze on detailed information and playstyle on single players and heroes which you can't see on live stream. It's also not all too expensive, can't go to Seattle though, <- because of that itself and it's just too expensive in total lol

Most imbalanced thing this patch is that Wisp's ultimate comes without a ping or warning on the minimap, when I stared on the minimap 'coz of Wisp and was sure nothing was there - suddenly beastmaster & Io crawling up my ass from behind

furion/sniper/sf has a casting time which is different from animation swing. Anti-mage only has an animation swing. Rubick has no animation swing, so his stolen spells becomes instant.

- We now show the Aghanim upgrade info in the ability itself if you're holding the scepter.

AUDIO
- The Relocate sound stops correctly now.

BOTS
- Fixed a bug were all bots would disable themselves if a human on the other team disconnected before picking a hero.
- Changed how bots use Glyph, they should no longer use it when their buildings aren't being attacked.
- Made Crystal Maiden bot even more timid.
- Bots will temporarily no longer do Roshan.
- Made bots go to the lane front when defending in-base rather than cowering behind the innermost towers.
- Fixed bug where bots weren't correctly parsing their roles, which would lead to bad hero picking/randoming.
- Fixed case were bots could "cheat" and have knowledge of where their target was when blinking.

If you think it's that simple to win vs a Lycan then you're just silly. Lycan is the power house he is for multiple reasons.

It's the usual counter for pubs, if you want to beat him properly you also need disables and especially the ones who go through BKB and lots of counter push and accurate execution, in the end DOTA 2 is a 5n5 though, as long as you can take care of the 4 other heroes, Lycan won't be a trouble as big in the end

lycan dominates the game at every single level of play. not only has this hero got the incredibly broken potential, but the amount of skill required to hit that potential is laughable. its quite tragic to see such an imbalanced hero after dota has been refined and tweaked with for so many years.

If a Lycan catch in Mid/Late with only with Vladimir/S&Y, he'll destroy your body, and destroy you again in the afterlife.

Also, N'aix or Slardar are the only heroes who can beat him properly.

Basher is actually a viable choice, especially when you upgrade it to Abyssal Blade. He's easily kiteable and you want to get as much dmg as possible out of the little time he got ulti and you can't depend on team support if you go chase off a hero on your own

Vlads, Medallion, BKB, PT/BoT, Necro/Basher->Abyssal, HoT/AC is what I usually build in that exact order

I never said it wasn't viable, i said it was typical pub trash.

If you farm basher into abyssal it usually means you're going to be useless for quite a while, it also means you won't be able to push as hard as you need an insane amount of farm for abyssal. BoT in a pro game won't get you far either.

Lycan isn't "easily" kiteable, what the fuck? he runs at a 522 move speed and can't be slowed, if that's "easily" kiteable then i don't know what the fuck is hard. You want a Force/Dagger/blink skill to manage to get away from him(stun if he doesn't have bkb), and not every hero has that.

If the situation calls for it, get a BKB up asap after vlads/med/PT, if they don't have too many stuns, you get a necro book up which will improve your pushing potential by a lot. After that you buy AC/Deso OR IF YOUR TEAM LACKS STUNS YOU CAN GET A BASHER.

But in pubs people don't play him like that, and people don't know how to properly play against him, so he just farms jungle for 30 minutes and come out with mega items that will melt anyone he hits.
