Nah, they don't think of it as a beta since noone apart from a select few is actually playing it for testing. The true beta is dota 2 test. It is still gonna get massive updates like before, just that beta is not the suitable word to describe the game anymore.Pizzicato wrote:

most of the guides on playdota work well for dota 2. meta changes all the time based on what people see in competitive play, but the strategies are essentially the same. I personally like these guides for playing a hero I'm not entirely familiar with:

Valve is fucking nuts right now, in a good way. Dota 2 is gunna be big, its kinda inevitable at this point. Valve is on the fucking BALL with doing shit right. DHS12 had ~70k on stream (even though a lot prob SC2 waiting for finals) while the game is in "beta", which is HUGE. Games like SC2 and LoL didn't get this numbers until months after their release (a year or 2 for LoL to be honest).
Valve knows how big this game can be as an eSport and they're doing everything in their power to bring in viewers and sponsors. With the whole "Whenever you purchase a tournament, we’ll share the money you spend with the organizers of the tournament." sponsors are going to want to support dota 2.
Also, the team function is fucking awesome. Team banners and Logos INGAME, as well as team history stat tracking. AWESOME.

I really like the way Valve is going. And I'm surprised I like this game, HoN and LoL couldn't catch my interest. Dota 2 is just well done and polished, especially the art style and the sound effects.

This thread has been better than that one since day 1. That thread turned terrible way long ago.
The LoL thread was good the first few pages, then it started filling up with baddies trying to convince their shit build and shit hero were the best and posting shitty stats pictures everytime they win a game, and the same shit is kind of happening to this thread. shit.
#1 We never discussed any builds on heroes
#2 Same with which heroes were the best, ok - somewhere in the middle over 1-2 pages but not all the time
#3 The only one doing that is iMercurial and kinda everyone ignores it
